“Decent hotel, looking a little tired, those Vingcard keys don't work!”
Decent hotel, pretty comforable, I had a Busineess Class hotel. Bit noisy outside, couldnt get the fan working to fully drown out the noise but I slept OK. Only gripe - those Vingcards drive me nuts! Arrived late at night, went all the way to the 16th Floor to find out my keycard wouldnt work and had to go all the way back down again. The guy behind the desk cam up with me to make sure it worked the 2nd time, which was nice, but the hotel should invest in those chip keys which work much better.
“Oslo!”
Short break, hotel is good standard, excellent location, and a breakfast to see you through the day and evening! 21st Bar is worth the trip alone for the view :o)
“Third stay and I want to go back!”
This was my third stay and if I'm in Oslo again I would certainly plan to stay there again. Absolutely no problems. Great room, helpful staff and an excellent Norwegian breakfast!! The bus link to the airport goes from outside the hotel which is easy and a big plus.
“JCS”
Good hotel; rooms very comfortable; lots going on; direct shuttle (quite expensive, but convenient) to/from the airport. Very helpful, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
“Great view, but no cigar”
Excellent view if you can get a room on the top floors!!! We got upgraded to a buiseness room which was great but the room was old and with a very old tv set in a very old hi fi furniture with broken doors. Nice breakfast but would expect a large chain as Raddisson to have a more green/organic line. Nice bar on the top floor, also with a great view - nothing fancy on the cocktail side though. Location was good, close to midtown and the train station.
“Tired and shabby but in good location”
Our room was described as 'superior'. It most defintely was not. It was totally different from the pictures on Expedia and the hotel's website. Our room was a 70's timewarp complete with orange wallpaper. No shelves or drawers for storage and a tatty and grubby bathroom. No sleep on our 1st night due to proximity of elevator equipment. Breakfast basically ok but all 'hot' food was cold - very cold. Moved to a 'business' room which was fairly clean and with decent bathroom. Staff ok but a little aloof. Local area is good with a few bars and shops. Very good for transport and easy walking access to the palace and Aker Bryyge. This hotel surprises me as being a 4-star Radisson. I would give it a maximum 3-stars. It really needs to have the room refurbish completed immediately.
“Great hotel with outstanding breakfast buffet”
Outstanding breakfast, good location, comfortabel room, friendly personel. But less than clean bathtub.
“Recommendation”
Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable well-renovated room. Hotel within walking distance of city center and great connections to airport and public transport. Great view over the Oslo Fjord. Very helpfull staff, nice health club and sky bar. Excellent breakfast.
“OK”
If you are expecting to have a nice welcome and an individual attention, this is not the hotel for you. It is a big hotel, usually tour groups stay there. When we did the check in, we did not get any information about the hotel, services, breakfast information, check out time, not even where the elevators were! We stayed in one of the old rooms, the hotel is going under renovation. But the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet has a big variety, you would be more than satisfied. It is served in a big room, a lot of people and noisy. The hotel has a bar at the 21th floor with a nice view of the city and the harbor. The hotel is almost next to the Royal Palace and from walking distance to the city center and the harbor. It is a matter of taste, we are used to the cozy and little hotels.
“Oslo Central”
I would agree with the prevailing sentiment that this is NOT a 4* hotel judged by the rooms. The room is satisfactory, however no door on closet or inroom safe and the bathroom definitely needed some TLC with peeled sealant. HOWEVER I cannot fault the service as the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, answering all my mundane questions and offering excellent local advice on eating and nightlife. Finally as for the location it is very well located close to main attractions and in a nice neighborhood. So it gets my vote on service and location!
