“Great accomodation would return”
A bit hard to find from the closest JR station. It would be good to get a simple English map as you can easily walk there from JR Morinomiya station. Exit the station and cross over to the park which is diagonally opposite the station exit. Walk along the park until you get to the end (keep walking with the park on your right side). Once you are familiar with the route you can walk through the park grounds each day. When you get to the end of the park, cross at the lights. You will see a museum on your left but keep walking in the same direction. You will cross another two sets of lights but at the third set of lights turn into the street and you should see Weekly Mansion sign. Before you turn off the street there is a convenience store on the opposite corner and you will see the Weekly Mansion Otemae sign from the street you have been walking down. I hope that helps as we had no idea the first time and it took us ages. The actual accomodation was really good considering we had only stayed in tiny hotel rooms in Tokyo. The kids loved the tatami flooring and futon bedding in their room, it gave them a real Japanese experience. It was a bonus that we could prepare and heat up meals and we bought most of our food from the Lawson 100 which was just a few minutes walk away (just ask at reception for a map). We used our JR passes to go to Kyoto, Nara and around Osaka. Would definitely stay there again.
“Excellent value for larger families”
I was so glad to find a hotel that would accomodate a large family in Japan. Most can fit 3-4 people, and most charge per person- so we may pay for two rooms and 6 people! Plus if we have to split into two rooms it doesn't feel as much like a family vacation. This hotel is more like an aprtment building or timeshare then a hotel (in a good way). The staff is very helpful and freindly! There is a subway station nearby, and three convenience stores within a few blocks. We loved that there was a kitchen and bedrooms in our room. The room was clean but not necessarily new. We will stay there again- excellent value for the cost!
“Acceptable hotel”
The hotel is located within a few minutes walk to the subway and makes it to easy to get around to other parts of Osaka. There are a few decent and reasonably priced restaurants close by. Osaka Castle is about an easy 15 min walk from the hotel. The 2 bedroom unit for my family of 4 is very spacious compared to other hotels in Japan. The unit is not as clean as others but still acceptable. There are no non-smoking rooms, however, the smoke odor is not bad. There are 3 air conditioners and they cool the unit well. There is no maid service unless you ask and pay for the service. Towels are available for free at the front desk which is staffed from 8AM-8PM. The worse part of the stay are the very hard beds and pillows. If they replace the beds and pillows, I'd have no hesitation to return. Best way from Kansai airport to hotel is to take the airport limo bus to Sheraton Miyako hotel (2700 yen rountrip per person) and take a taxi to hotel (880 yen - can seat 4 passengers). If you take the subway from the Sheraton, you will have to drag your bags up and down many sets of stairs at 230 yen per person.
“Would be happy to stay again”
Good hotel a little dated but good value for money in an excellent location. Good for travel around Japan The subway station is very close so easy to navigate around Osaka and beyond. Highly recomend a JR rail pass (Must perchase outside Japan) as this allows easy travel
“Nice place, creaky bed”
This place was good, big rooms, fast internet, good location. But the service was only adequate, none of the staff put in any effort to provide great service. But the main thing was the bed creaked like it was haunted. It kept us up every night until we ended up spending the last five nights with the mattress on the floor. Otherwise this place is fine.
“Valued for $$$.”
Great for family of more than 5, especially if u r looking for accomodation that can accomodate so many pple altogether & with kitchen facilities that enables u to prepare simple meals. Approximately 5mins walk from Tanimachi 4-chome subway (chuo line-green color) Exit #4. 2 Family Marts nearby. Near Osaka Castle; approx 15mins walk. Although fully equipped kitchen but has limited utensils. Cookery generally quite new & clean; electrical appliances in gd working condition. Hv air-con but no heater in d rm, can be very cold at night especially during winter. Luckily, they do hv water heater for d bathrm & sink. Most of d time, bathrm reeks of sewage even with ventilation fan. Still poorly ventilated as there r no windows to allow fresh air to circulate. No rm cleaning service if your stay is less than 1wk so u hv to brg your rubbish to d launderette area to discard. Bagged yourselves with plenty of 100yen coins if u will be using their launderette service & internet access as they do not hv coins changing machine. Staff speak simple English. Helpful & polite.
“Very impressive-excellent”
We stayed at Weekly Mansion Osaka @ Otemae from 20 Nov 2010-25 Nov 2010. Surprisingly spacious for Japanese standard, clean and very comfortable with full kitchen facilities, homely. Close to train station and convenient store. Good value for money. I will definitely stay here if I visit Osaka again. Highly recommended, excellent.

“Sridhar osaka experence”
Many thanks to expedia for the assistance in booking the apartment. The apartment is compact, well maintained and functional. The location was good, staff could not speak english and provide required information. The size of the apartment was tight when you have to handle large suitcases. This property is suitable when you travel light and really worth the money you pay for it.
“Fantastic value for a family on a budget.”
Stayed in the 3 b/room apartment, with 2 teenage children and it was fantastic. Each had their own room, 2 TV's, free internet with 2 connections, a/cond in each room, sep. toilet / shower & bath. Quality shampoo/conditiner/body wash provided (In large pump bottles). Beds were large and comfortable. Kitchen well provided for. Staff friendly, automatic laundry cheap and you can dry your clothes on the balcony if you want. You can change your towels / linen as often as you want yourself by giving it to the reception, no extra charge. Elevator to room, great food places nearby, and cheap supermarket as well. Train 5 mins easy walk, Starbucks cofffee 5 mins walk too!! Train is on the subway line and one stop from the JR line. There is an elevator at the train station, so ask, rather than carry your bags up. Hotel supplies a local map with heaps of great advice where to go , and how to get there in English. So make sure you bring your laptop too. Rooms clean and quiet, but not modern, but for the price fantastic value. It was like staying at a holiday cottage rather than an apartment. Highly recommend. We used it as a base to travel all over Japan on our JR rail pass!!
