“Great Value for Money”

July 11. 5 nights accomodation. Rooms very clean, bath & shower. Plenty of room here. Small bar fridge in room. 2 x King Single beds the only down side to our accomodation (2 adults & 4YO) A little squishy at night! Extremely helpful staff. Best access to Train station (on top of it!) With Best multi level shopping department store right oustide the hotel front doors (K'Ntetsu) Best "sweets" bakery at your front door. Easy walking distance to many different eateries (KFC, McDonalds, Chinese, Japanese, Italian) Close to JR Loop Line (1station). Direct drop off and pickup at hotel to & from Kansai Airport thru Bus Limousine Service. Not too difficult to get to Universal Studios or Shin Okasa Stn to get bullet train (just need a train map). Would stay there again

Area recommendations
Must take a ride on the bullet train (Shinkansen). Stay a night in Tokyo & come back Best experience.

“Centrally Located, Large rooms, could use face-lift”

The Sheraton Miyako was a nice hotel, twenty years ago it was probably very nice, but the rooms are a bit run down, 80's look and feel. Our room was pretty big compared to other hotels and the Kintetsu train station next door makes catching the subway easy. Just catch the train to Namba and all subways are within reach from there. The Kintetsu Station has a department store and in the basement you will find the usual plethora of food choices that are reasonably priced. Food in the hotel is very pricy. There is also an AM/PM Mart near the entrance inside the train station. VERY convenient. This can be handy after a long day of sight seeing and stocking your room fridge. Guests must be 12 or older to use the pool at a cost of 1000yen. So we were out of luck as my son is 8. The hotel service was good, the lobby on the second floor so you don't need to pass by the front desk when you enter the hotel but if you need anything, the staff is very helpful and friendly. Currency exchange can be done at the front desk. I would recommend this hotel, it's clean, easy to find, centrally located with public transportation next door.

Area recommendations
For dinner, the Namba area is just two train stops away and there is a great range of food options there. We had dotonbori at one of the restaurants there and it was delish! Namba is like a huge carnival, very crowded with Vegas lights everywhere. It's fun to visit for a good dinner.

“put your valuables away in safe”

i would like to explain why i would not recommend as we had a ipod stolen from our room its our fault for leaving it out on the table but when you lock your room you expect it to be there when you return asked at front desk to view video of hallway to see if anyone had gone into our room as the cleaners unlock your room and then they leave it open as one cleaner does the bed another does bathroom etc .so your room is open for around a hour while different cleaners do there part and the hotel just so sorry not our problem.overall the hotel is good beds are a little hard for long stays as we were there for three weeks never tried restaurants in hotel as we eat out in the local eatery's train is in the bottom of hotel which is excellent for getting around theres a neat cafe down in the kentetsu shopping mall and a excellent grocery store called halves next to {subway } the sandwich joint which is at the bottom of the escalator back of kentetsu nice sandwiches p repacked for 280 yen. milk bread only sell rice bubbles and frosties cornflakes there's cooked chicken pork you can buy there and microwave is free to use to heat your brought items and prepacked salads.

osaka namba .rinku town for shopping . kyoto for temples.Osaka is a amazing place to visit its bloody huge just to get from kansai airport to hotel is 1 hour by bus $1500.00 yen one way.For 2000 yen you can get a one day bus pass from the bottom carkpark of hotel on bus to go to rinku town but ask bus driver when you get to airport for voucher so you can get airport shuttle to rinku town really good shopping much like our harbour town in queensland.Osaka namba is another really good shopping place. Universal studios is great to visit as so is Osaka castle all in all had a great time the people in japan are so polite and the cleanliness puts our country to shame bidets on almost all toilets money is put into trays when you pay for anything drink machines on any street cheap to bottle of coke 150 yen water 120 yen nearly every street has a lawson's or am pm or 7/11 shop the place is run like clockwork.no graffiti on trains children are still up at 11pm going home from night school you feel very safe walking the streets no matter what time of the night. now getting back to that ipod which i had to replace at 200.00 aud i honestly think another traveler has walked into our room while the cleaners were in another and they helped themself to it and if you are reading this I hoped it blows your bloody eardrums out.YA THIEF.

“Nothing Special”

The advantage of this hotel is that it's at a train station (not JR) - convenient, but JR Shin-Osaka would be better. This was our first trip to Japan, and just one of many stops. We stayed 4 nights (parent and teenager). We'd choose another hotel next time. Staff is not welcoming, and the hotel feels cold and impersonal (unusual, for our experience of Japan). Our room was clean but a bit worn. It was fine in size and beds were comfortable. We had a small coffee table and 2 chairs in our 2 twin bed room, and a hot pot and refrigerator. I never saw anyone at the concierge desk. Also, when we checked in we were handed a sheet of paper with our receipt, telling us that the pool was closed for a month - a big disappointment. and surprise, as this had been a deciding factor in choosing the hotel. There are free computer terminals in a room next to the lobby - very handy. They didn't tell us about it when we checked in and there was nothing in the room about this. A big plus - There's really terrific, reasonably priced food at the vendors in the department store inside the same station - lots of choices, and easy to pick up a delicious meal after a long day of sightseeing.

Area recommendations
The department store food is excellent, and prices are reasonable. JR Shin-Osaka station is the hub for most travel, and would be a more convenient place to stay for anyone with a JR Pass.

“Perfect end to an awesome trip”

Staying in this hotel was the perfect conclusion to an amazing journey across japan. Situated right by the subway station, I came off the train and was literally about 50 yards from the hotel. Plenty of restaurants, shopping, and japanese oddity within walking distance. The room was THE most comfortable hotel room i've stayed in while overseas and the lounge/bar was supremely classy. The shuttle in the morning to the airport was the most convenient amenity EVER. Highly recommend this place.

“Great Hotel, Great people!”

This was a last minute trip! We loved it although short! There is the access to the metro and JR lines which makes traveling through Japan very easy and comfortable! The Hotel Personnel were friendly, almost to a fault!

“Very Convienient Location”

The Sheraton Miyako is a great place to stay if it is your first time in Osaka & are a bit intimidated about travelling the city. There is an airport shuttle that stops directly at the hotel & there is a train/subway station adjacent to the hotel. From this station it is very easy to get to almost anywhere in Osaka without having to resort to taking taxis. The staff were very helpful in planning our daytrip to Kyoto and even provided the best & most time efficient route there (we only had to change trains once with very little stopover time between). I would definitely stay there again.

Traveller's tip
Going out to eat in restaurants can be very expensive; the department store adjacent to the hotel has takeaway food in the basement. There is an excellent selection of local cuisine and definitely something to suit all tastes, including very fresh sushi & sashimi; we ate food from there every night!

“Great location for seeing Osaka”

The hotel was simple to get to from the major train stations. It required a couple of train and subway changes, but all were easy to make. The hotel itself was clean and very nicely appointed. We would highly recommend it.
