“Gem on the river”
Great hotel near the city center. As we arrived by train, the free shuttle service freom the station to the hotel was a nice suprise. The staff couldn't have been more helpful both on the property, and direction about town. Our room on the 20th floor was very clean and well appionted, with the best shower of our entire stay in Japan.
“The best in the area.”
Everyone at the hotel was professional; cheerful, helpful, courteous, and respectful. The food and service were excellent. If we go back to the same area, we will definitely stay there again.
“Fine hotel”
Good sized room for Japan.
“The Imperial is what an hotel is supposed to be”
I love the Imperial Hotel and treasure every visit. Its location is not the best in terms of location if you want to be near the bustling center of town, but they run a very regular (15 minutes) free shuttle to Osaka Station (Umena) that is as central as you can get. Instead you are on the river, with marvelous views in a quieter neighborhood. It is easy to go for walks, either along the river or to a subway station. One of the latter is in one of the long covered malls that are fun to just stroll down and take in how the Japanese in the city shop. The hotel itself is a classic example of elegant design. it doesn't look like it from the outside but inside it is quite sumptuous. The rooms are a nice size and are thoughtfully laid out. The staff, of course, are extremely courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet is unbelievably (expensive, though, as they tend to be in Japan). There are several shops, all high end in the building, plus easy access to many others, plus the usual pristine pool and also tennis courts. The very best, though, is the bar. Designed in a Frank Lloyd Wright style (he had designed the original Imperial), it is, in my opinion, the best bar in the world. It's hard to describe but it is both elegant, comfortable and stunning. Finally, at least when booking from the US on Expedia, the cost was very reasonable- less than the cost of a downtown hotel in most American cities. There just is nothing not to like at the Imperial.
“Best hotel!”
I booked this hotel for 3 nights and was upgraded when I checked in. The room is on the floor 20 with great view of Osaka city and river. The size of the room is pretty big and very comfortable. The service was excellent. We took the shuttle bus to get to Osaka station and took subway and train to visit various places. We missed the last shuttle bus to go back to the hotel one night, but there is a subway station within comfortable walking distance. Definitely will stay at this hotel when visit Osaka next time and strongly recommend this hotel to everyone/
