Great value western-style hotel in downtown Osaka, on the edge of Doyama. Within 5 mins walk from the JR station, so a great base to explore the area. Plenty of restaurants and bars, this place is in the middle of the Kita area and all it's nightlife. The hotel is clean, rooms are tidy with air conditioning, great value for money.
"A very comfortable place to begin our first trip"
We vacationed in Japan for the first time and we stayed here for the first three days because the hotels in Kyoto were full. The spa was wonderful and the hotel room was quite large and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally helpful. The concierge was able to arrange for a volunteer English speaking guide to take us around Osaka Castle.
From the airport we had to wait 1.5 hours for the "shuttle" to the Hyatt (it is really a large bus) - it is not a hotel shuttle, but a public bus. You buy your ticket at the airport. The last bus of the day was at 9 pm and our flight arrived at 7 pm. It took about 40 minutes to get to the Hyatt.
The only place for breakfast is the buffet, which was 30 yen per person.
The hotel does offer a free shuttle to the Osaka train station, which made it easy to take a train to Kyoto station.
We would return to this hotel as we had a very nice experience and it is in an uncrowded area. It is easy to take the subway to the aquarium and to Osaka Castle.
This hotel is not a big hotel but service is really good. there are much of interested services and facilities. Also, you can find vending machine space, it is free! and laundry room, so on. This hotel doesn't disappoint you, I would diffidently book here on my next travel and recommend to my friends.
The Westin Osaka is about a 10 min walk to Osaka station but they also have a shuttle bus that does regular runs to and from Osaka station for the JR trains and also the local subway making it easy to get about the city. We arrived a few hours before check in so the staff were more than happy for us to leave our bags so we could meet some friends for lunch before check in.
We were lucky enough to be given a free upgrade to a suite which was fantastic. The king sized bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom with a separate bath and shower was really clean and of a large size. The buffet breakfast was of a high standard with a large selection of hot and cold foods catering to both Japanese and Western style tastes.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were always happy to help with any requests we had with maps on hand to help with directions.
I would definitely return to this hotel again.
