“We miss you..Fantastic Westgate Lake Villa's”
Massively recommend, never write reviews but felt I had to tell others of the fantastic Westgate Lake Resort. Only two of us went for the week before xmas 09 so we had a "studio" which consisted of full self catering equipment, huge bed, huge balcony facing the tranquil lake, huge jacuzzi seperate from the bathroom, huge shower... Yes everything was huge!!! We peeked into other rooms which were for families and they looked like real homes (kitchen/ dining room inc washer & dryer, lounge, staircase, seperate bedrooms) we were definitely the poor relatives but still felt we had more than enough space. Great location, minutes away from Universal & International Drive Only one slight "moan" the maid didn't vaccum all week, self catering can be quite messy?? She made bed, and gave clean towels eveyday though. Overall, we definitely are planning to go back and would only want to stay at Westgate Lake!
“Fist time we had stayed at this complex would definately go back”
From check in to check out everything was great. Pools were clean and well maintained as were the grounds. The room would benefit from having a welcome pack of coffee, but not really a problem as there is a Walmart 2 mins drive away.
“Would go back again any time”
First class hotel, Would recommend to anybody who was going to orlando.Plenty of pools and activerties.
“Great place”
Having read the reports about this Hotel i was unsure what to expect, however for me the whole experience was good. The front desk were great, the VIP desk were a great help. My studio was first class,i have stayed in many so called 5 star hotels but there rooms were nowhere near as good as this.Jacuzzi bath in room a bonus ! The pools all heated and spotless clean, also same could be said about jacuzzi pools ! All in all a first class resort.
“Has Dated since last visit but still worth the Money”
Had a holiday at this property 10 years ago and was very impressed. It has dated a bit but is still well worth the money. A much better way to visit Orlando than a Hotel.
“An oasis of calm amidst the madness”
Having stayed at Westgate Lakes on a previous trip to Orlando, we were more than happy to book an apartment there this year. All the staff were helpful & friendly even when faced with weary travellers trying to check in after a long journey. Our apartment was situated on the edge of the lake where we couldn't be overlooked by other guests - we seemed to spend more time on the balcony, eating breakfast there before the heat of the day was a pleasure & relaxing with a cocktail watching the sun rapidly disappearing below the horizon was another highlight. The apartment itself didn't disappoint - all the rooms were spacious, well designed, comfortable yet practical & stylish. With four of us sharing we never found it claustrophobic or gotin each others way. The kitchen was very well equipped though the shorter members of our party had problems reaching items in some of the cupboards! The pools were fine, a big hit with adults & children as were the mini golf & boats. We didnt join in any of the activity sessions or pool parties & managed to avoid all the hard sell investment offers. As for location, it was wonderful to be close to the parks & main restaurant areas but far enough away to be peaceful. The proximity of a large supermarket turned out to be a bonus!
“not a bad place”
good place to use as a base but watch out for hard sell on time share, puts you off going back.it wasnot this bad last time we went.
“Watch out for timeshare hard sell”
Complex very nice and easy to get to all the main attractions, lots of pools and activities on site (extra chrage for these) Didn't realise it was a timeshare resort and got tricked into a sales pitch... we were told it was a hotel evaluation so they could stay 5* Turned into 2hours of a hard sell not what you really want to do on the last full day of your holiday! There were a couple of issues with the room eg. water switched off to washin machine but the maintenance men were up in 10min to fix stuff so not a big problem. Other thing that happened is we came home after a day at theme parks to find front door ajar - must have not been closed completely by housekeeping, luckily nothing was missing from the room, but they also do have fairly good security staff on site which probably help to prevent undesirables hanging around. Hotel response to this was less than satisfactory.
“Good Value Location & Facilities”
My second stay here, room facilities are great, condo style, you even get a Jacuzzi in your room. This coupled with Kitchen, walk in shower, huge king size bed, leather sofa beds, huge TV and roomy screened balcony equal a very good deal. Lots of facilities on site, but good access to all off site things too - situated equidistant between Universal/International Drive Area and Downtown Disney or Sea World for example. An 8.5 out of 10 for me.
“Fantastic amount of space”
We had a fab 3 weeks here and would definately go back again. our room decor was a little dated but we have never had so much space on holiday, and with a 6 year old and a baby over xmas we needed it (we had a 2 bed apartment). The kitchen was fab and the washer and dryer a god send, the only thing I needed that wasn't there was a kettle, so we bought a cheap one at wal-mart! The room was clean when we arrived, we didn't pay for housekeeping but got clean towels & our garbage collected everyday and when I asked for clean bedding it was delivered to the room within minutes every time! We didn't use the hotel facilities much as we were at the parks nearly every day (the hotel is in a fantastic location for all the parks)but when we did do anything the service was fantastic!
