Great Hotel

Posted 15-Sep-2014
Pros: Clean and comfortable. High end hotel at a reasonable price
Cons: I wish the pool was deeper for swimming.
Location: Universal Studios , restaurants and shopping.
Take the ferry to Universal or the shops and restaurants. There was a mini refrigerator in the room too. Loved the Beatle pictures on the walls in our room. Bed was very comfortable. Classy hotel.

Perfect for Universal parks

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: Location to the parks and the swimming pool (really needed that pool at the end of the day!)
Excellent location if visiting the two universal theme parks. Very comfortable and clean. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Pool very nice but exposed entirely to the sun so care needed to avoid getting too burnt! Evening swims are fun and relaxed. Restaurants very good standard but also wide choice of dinning places at City Walk and theme parks. Hotel also offers it's guests a free express ticket for the rides in the parks which is a great advantage, as well as one hour early entry (helps to get a head of the large queues that form at the Harry Potter rides! A great break for the family!

Lovely hotel next to Universal Studios

Posted 04-Sep-2014
Pros: The hotel is very nice but the express passes for universal is what swung it for us
Cons: From the car park it would be easier if there was an elevator. We parked up then brought our cases round the front but we could have parked outside HR
Location: Great for universal / citywalk
Had another great stay at the Hard Rock. We checked in in the morning and was given our 4 universal express passes so we could enjoy the park straight away as our room wasn't due to be ready until 4pm. The hotel is very nice but what makes it really good value for money is the express passes which you can use on the day you check in and also the following day. When we checked out the next day we were told our car was ok to stay in their car park until 12 at night so even though we went to universal on 2 days we only paid $20 for parking. The staff were very helpful and even upgraded us to a garden view room when we booked a standard room free of charge. You travel via river taxi to and from universal which is great if you want to have a drink! :)

Love this hotel!

Posted 21-Aug-2014
Pros: Amenities, upbeat vibe, the pool!
Cons: A/C way too cold in common areas
Location: Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, Wet'n Wild, I Fly, mini-golf, movies, anything on International Drive
Club level is worth it for the extra perks-- snacks, fitness center, great view! Pool is perfect for relaxing while watching the kids, especially during movie time. Pizza take-out a plus!

The extras make this extremely worthwhile!!

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: The location, the free extras and the staff
Cons: A lift from the car park would be useful.
Location: Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are still by far the best two parks in Orlando. New Harry Potter (especially the train ride) is brilliant
We used the Hard Rock as a one night base to meet up with friends who we're staying at Orlando. It seemed a bit pricey to start with but when you way it all up it is excellent value. It's on site, the overnight car park is cheaper than two days in the multi-storey, unlimited express tickets are complimentary plus an extra hour in both parks before they open to general public. If you are planning to do the new Harry Potter then give this hotel a go! The hotel itself is excellent, massive but excellent the pool and slides are great and stay open until late. The memorabilia on the walks take a good hour to look at and the staff are excellent and very very helpful. All in all a great overnight stay. Thanks very much Hard Rock!!

Great hotel, short walk to Universal

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: Proximity to the parks
Cons: The music at the pool could be turned down a bit!
Location: Took a short cab ride to restaurant row and had a wonderful meal at Rocco's Tacos! Also took advantage of the pool at the neighboring hotel, Portofino
Had a wonderful time, the hotel was beautiful and convenient. I loved the fact that we could use the amenities at the neighboring hotels. It almost felt like we were staying at two different hotels. The water taxi was convenient when we needed a break from walking. The first day we had a wonderful buffet in the restaurant, The Kitchen. The staff was always helpful and polite. I would so recommend this hotel to anyone going to Universal!

I was guaranteed late check in and my room with 2 queen beds was not help. My children had to sleep on roll away beds that was very uncomfortable.

Hotel Really Rocks Hard....

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: staff very friendly, pool entertainment great, it has one of he best restaurants in the hotel "THE PALM" a lil pricey but worth every bite
Cons: I had a double queen room the only thing is the room felt misty no vent in the bathroom not that i found one.
Location: This hotel literally had the parks as their backyard, short walk.
I would definitely come back to this hotel. We ate at the Kitchen for breakfast and the food was great. It also offers lunch and dinners. The pool you lose track of time because its so comforting with the entertainment and the service.
