Best place to stay for the park

Posted 18-May-2015
Pros: Staff was outstanding, decor is cool and interesting if you are music/pop culture fan, the pool was great and the food was pretty good too.
Location: Universal studios and Citywalk (basically a section of the park with restaurants and no rides) was fun and lots to do.
We stayed here for an extended weekend and had a 2-day pass to Universal Studios. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, the staff could NOT have been nicer and more accommodating. Friendly and not overbearing, they treat everyone like great friends. The room was excellent - only minor issue was that our fridge wasn't working and we had brought along some drinks and snacks - but we called the front desk and within a half hour, someone was at the door to replace it and it was a non-issue. Excellent beds, bathroom was great, good coffee, the restaurants were great and you literally walk next door to the park. Hotel is a bit pricey HOWEVER, you get the free express pass for each person for each day of your park visit - which is HUGE. We skipped over long lines and were able to get a way better park experience because of it. That feature alone saved us over $700 so all in all, the hotel really ISN'T that expensive. It was better than I expected, we are already talking about going back!

Nice hotel and top service

Posted 17-May-2015
Pros: Large rooms and distance to universal
Cons: Bathroom was dated and would be better with a shower cubicle rather than over bath.
Great hotel, thought it would be a bit gimmicky however felt like it was a real 5 star hotel . Great proximity to the parks and some nice restaurants across the sites.

Great Universal Hotel

Posted 15-May-2015
Pros: Pool. Convenience - we parked our car and did not move it until the end of our visit.
Cons: The only thing the bothered me is charging me to park. Staying here is already pretty pricy. I don't know why parking isn't already included.
Location: Universal Studios (a bit outdated, but the new Harry Potter ride is great). Islands of Adventure. City Walk with plenty of restaurants. Blue Man G
The Hard Rock is the closest hotel to the Universal Orlando resorts, and walking there was a breeze. You could also take the boat which ran frequently and was very quick. The rooms are nice and very comfortable. The pool area is big and has lots of seating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would choose again if visiting Universal.

Nice Hotel Close to Universal.

Posted 11-May-2015
Cons: More options for lunch (make your own sandwich, salads, soups etc.) I felt there were limited options for vegetarians at the hotel.
Great hotel for family vacation. Stayed at hotel from May 1st to May 8th, 2015. The rooms and facilities were very clean and the staff was very accommodating. Loved the nightly movies and the firework display at night. I found that the price for water and sundry items a bit expensive; also there were limited lunch options available at the resort. Very close for Universal Theme Parks and Universal City Walk. Enjoyed the water taxis and the complimentary transportation to Sea World. The Unlimited Express Pass that is offered as part of staying at the hotel was a wonderful benefit. I would definately stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to my friends and family.

Not a "hard knock life" at Hard Rock Hotel

Posted 08-May-2015
Pros: Pretty much everything except for the parking fee and the gym fee.
Cons: Don't charge for a daily parking fee or a charge for usage of the gym when a customer is not going to use it.
Location: We felt that the location was perfect as it was a quick drive to everything we were planning to see/go to on our stay in Florida.
My son and I were extremely pleased at everything about the Hard Rock Hotel EXCEPT that we were surprised that we had to pay a daily rate to park our car on the facility's property and some fee for using their gym even though we knew we were not going to use the gym.

Hôtel jeune, accueillant et proche des parcs !

Posted 02-May-2015

Huge hotel close to Universal

Posted 02-May-2015
Pros: Location to attractions
Cons: Room service
Location: Universal Studios, City Walk, Islands of Adventure
Hotel is huge with many things to do. Only complaint I have is that room service was absolutely horrible. We stayed for 5 days and our room was only cleaned twice!

Would Definately Return !!! Awesome stay !

Posted 01-May-2015
Pros: Easy access to Universal Studios, great concierge staff that were very helpful, loved the music by the pool and all the music memorabilia.
Cons: Free transportation from the airport would be nice as it's quite pricey to take their shuttle ($ 37 round trip pp) and a taxi is about $55 each way.
Location: Can walk to City Walk for restaurants or the theme parks. Universal Blvd also a short taxi ride for more attractions.
We were staying as a family of 4 with 3 additional friends in their own rooms. The hotel was very clean and smells great when you walk into the lobby ( I know that's a strange comment but I loved it). The staff were very friendly and helpful at the conceirge, the check in and the restaurants. The pool is amazing with real sand, palm trees and a slide. The rooms are very spacious so we never felt cramped despite four of us in the room. Beds, pillows were all great. Loved the Grab & Go store on the ground floor where you could grab Starbucks, a smoothie or a quick breakfast before you head to the theme park. Universal studios is walking distance or you can take a water taxi for free. It was very easy and convenient to get around. Housekeeping also very prompt and friendly.
