Very nice honeymoon

Posted 22-Feb-2015
Pros: Friendly staff. Close to City walk. Nice atmosphere
Cons: The rate
Location: City walk and universal
We spent our first night of honeymoon there. The staff was very friendly. We had complimentary champagne and Hersey kisses delivered to our room. Room was very clean and roomy. Very nice coffee machine. Short walk and boat ride to attractions and fun. We would definitely stay there again.

Hard Rock Hotel was almost the best part

Posted 21-Feb-2015
Pros: seriously, everything
Cons: maybe turn the volume down on the on-hold music. We called the concierge a couple of times and had to hold the phone away from our ears!
Location: Universal Studios park was why we came and what we did the whole time. Too cold for Wet n Wild, but we've been there before and that's fun too.
We have 2 teenage boys and chose the Kids' Suite. Worth every penny. The room was huge. It had a king bed, large flat screen, spacious seating area, great view, framed posters of john lennon and bob dylan. and then through non-locking french doors was the kids' room with 2 twin beds, another flat screen and a small table and soft stools. Through that room was a shower/tub toilet room and on the other side a large master bath with a shower, with its own entrance from the master room. a 2nd toilet would have been nice, but whatever, it was a super cool room and everybody was really happy with it. the hotel itself is great. everyone was nice. great music piped 24/7 in the public areas. nice little place to go for breakfast (The Kitchen) and we even went there for dinner one night because it was so cold. Our first reason for going to Universal was the park. the hotel was so great, it came a close second to the best part of our trip. Florida was experiencing a nasty, historic cold snap so we couldn't go into the pool (or really, any water rides), and it was unpleasant to walk around CityWalk for too long so hanging out at the hotel was a great and welcome alternative.

Hard Rock Adventure

Posted 18-Feb-2015
Pros: The staff was very polite and efficient. We enjoy the Palm's restaurant as well as the quick meals at the Kitchen cafe.
Cons: It would be convenient to have a spa facility at the Hard Rock as the Portofino is very busy and we were unable to book a massage.
Location: Shopping is close by. Mostly stayed on the Universal and Hard Rock site.
Our 6 night stay was very comfortable and we appreciated the complimentary Wifi. Universal Studios experience was exciting but tiring with all the walking. It was thrilling to see the Harry Potter section of the two parks. My favourite ride in the park is still the Mummy with the dragon ride a close second. The hotel staff was efficient and very accommodating. In summary, there was very little to not like. Thank you for the memories.

Staying at the Hard Rock at Universal Studios was an excellent experience. The hotel itself is amazing the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food at the restaurants is excellent. The hotel is within minutes walking distance to Universal Studios. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel lost its edge

Posted 11-Feb-2015
Pros: location
Cons: mattresses, prices of food/drink are excessive
Location: Universal studios is right on property. But in future, I'd stay at the Royal Pacific
The remodeled style is more like a euro-techno theme than "hotel California" the gray carpeting makes the interior dark. Drinks at the Velvet Lounge are overpriced and the beds have seen way too much mileage.

Hard Rock Hotel is an Amazing Hotel

Posted 10-Feb-2015
We really love this hotel! It is a great cool atmosphere! Your kids definitely will not be disappointed! The pool is great. They also have great on site restaurants if you want to stay at the hotel. There are also many choices at City Walk which is located within walking distance. The parks are also within walking distance or you can take a short water taxi ride. One if the best perks at this hotel is that everyone gets an express pass for all the rides although it does not include the Harry Potter Rides! We had a great time & I'm sure we will be back soon!

Remodeled but not well done.

Posted 08-Feb-2015
Pros: Location, pool.
Cons: Beds have seen too much mileage. Interior decor doesn't match the hotel theme (and is very dark/gray).
Location: Its right on property for Universal theme parks.
We stayed at the Hard Rock several years ago - the architecture is Spanish mission, and the interior was elegant So Cal in design. The remodeled hotel's interior has a modern euro-techno feel to it. Felt more like being in Frankfurt or Berlin than southern California. The mattresses were well-worn and we switched beds after one night in hopes that the other mattress would have seen less mileage. The food/restaurants are good, but not as good as I've seen at other hotels recently.
