GOOD STAY

Posted 16-Dec-2014
Pros: access to Universal Studio's and Islands of Adventure
Cons: A shuttle service to International Drive and the Florida Mall.
Location: Walking distance to city walk and universal studio's/ IOA. Taxi ride to International drive
We have stayed at the hardrock hotel on numerous occasions previously and as usual the stay was very good. My only bug bear is that they put such a high gratuity charge on all services including the poolside bar...I would prefer to reward good service myself and not be forced to pay. But all in all...great service at a great hotel.

Best Hotel for Universal Theme Parks

Posted 02-Dec-2014
Pros: We stayed in newly refurbished rooms and were the first guests to stay in them. The beds were super comfy.
This was the second time that my our family including one 16 year old and two 11 year olds stayed at the Hard Rock. We love the vibe at this hotel. It is very comfortable. The Deluxe Queen is a nice oversized room and comfortable for family of 5. The pool is great with underwater music and kid's activities. The icecream shop is really good. It is walking distance to parks. You can also take the ferry taxi. We would definitely stay at the Hard Rock every time we visit Universal.

Excellent Hotel

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Pros: Cleanliness, and close to Universal Theme Park. Friendly staff and enjoyed the boat ride from the Hotel to Universal.
Location: Excellent location, very close to Universal, and City Walk.
Booked a queen room which was 4110, nice and clean and had been recently refurbished. Asked at reception for more milk and coffee and was with us within 10 mins. We only stayed one night, but looking to stay longer next year. What's nice is that you get Express Pass into Universal which was fantastic, no queues. Ate in The Kitchen Restaurant for dinner, excellent steak burger and gad breakfast the following morning. Good quality food, a little expensive, but well worth it. The staff were friendly and really helpful. Certainly recommend it to friends and family.

Overall . . . excellent.

Pros: What impressed me the most about this hotel is that the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. The Butterfly Garden was truly charming.
Cons: A couple of (minor) things: a cabinet door in front of the fridge in the room was a bit awkward and the full length mirror was at a weird angle.
Location: Basically, I came to Orlando for Universal Studios and HRH did not disappoint! A water taxi or a short walk through the stunning grounds and voila!
I truly enjoyed my stay. Upon checking in, I was dismayed to see that my Garden View Room view was almost totally obscured by a five story palm tree whose four foot wide fronds were almost plastered to my window. The Concierge, however, could not have been more accommodating in immediately moving me to a nearby room with a fabulous view. Everyone (with one small exception) working here was extremely courteous and tremendously helpful. The room was very nice & super clean, and I really enjoyed all of the music memorabilia decor that the Hard Rock is known for. A few words about Emack & Bolio's Marketplace (which is located on the first floor): on two separate nights of my stay, I purchased sandwiches here and was delighted to find that their ready made sandwiches tasted as though they had been just freshly made. Also, a great place to stock up on water, juice, snacks etc. I would definitely stay here again!! as well as recommend it to others.

Nice hotel close to Universal parks

Posted 04-Nov-2014
Hard Rock Hotel was very nice! Rooms were clean and stayed very clean every day. The founds were very well kept and there were lots of activities for the kids by the pool. We were impressed by the walking distance to Universal. Not far at all! We were also thrilled with the included Universal fast passes the hotel gave us just for staying there! The only complaints we had were that the beds were pretty stiff. We imagined for the price the mattresses would be pillow top or at least somewhat softer than they turned out to be. Also, the air conditioning was an issue. The temp never got below 72 and for us that was a problem. We typically sleep with the temp in our house at 67-68. And yes, those few degrees make a difference. We also felt that for the price, some sort of breakfast should be included. Even if it was just prepackaged items and coffee. The only option was to purchase breakfast from the in house restaurant and the price was pretty steep. There is also a $20 per night parking charge to park your car in their parking lot. $27 if you use valet. I felt like that was also a bit of a stretch. We recommend this to others but definitely be ready to fork out the money.

Super, aber einfach zu teuer...

Posted 30-Oct-2014
