Excellent Hotel

Posted 17-Nov-2014
Pros: Cleanliness, and close to Universal Theme Park. Friendly staff and enjoyed the boat ride from the Hotel to Universal.
Location: Excellent location, very close to Universal, and City Walk.
Booked a queen room which was 4110, nice and clean and had been recently refurbished. Asked at reception for more milk and coffee and was with us within 10 mins. We only stayed one night, but looking to stay longer next year. What's nice is that you get Express Pass into Universal which was fantastic, no queues. Ate in The Kitchen Restaurant for dinner, excellent steak burger and gad breakfast the following morning. Good quality food, a little expensive, but well worth it. The staff were friendly and really helpful. Certainly recommend it to friends and family.

Overall . . . excellent.

Pros: What impressed me the most about this hotel is that the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. The Butterfly Garden was truly charming.
Cons: A couple of (minor) things: a cabinet door in front of the fridge in the room was a bit awkward and the full length mirror was at a weird angle.
Location: Basically, I came to Orlando for Universal Studios and HRH did not disappoint! A water taxi or a short walk through the stunning grounds and voila!
I truly enjoyed my stay. Upon checking in, I was dismayed to see that my Garden View Room view was almost totally obscured by a five story palm tree whose four foot wide fronds were almost plastered to my window. The Concierge, however, could not have been more accommodating in immediately moving me to a nearby room with a fabulous view. Everyone (with one small exception) working here was extremely courteous and tremendously helpful. The room was very nice & super clean, and I really enjoyed all of the music memorabilia decor that the Hard Rock is known for. A few words about Emack & Bolio's Marketplace (which is located on the first floor): on two separate nights of my stay, I purchased sandwiches here and was delighted to find that their ready made sandwiches tasted as though they had been just freshly made. Also, a great place to stock up on water, juice, snacks etc. I would definitely stay here again!! as well as recommend it to others.

Nice hotel close to Universal parks

Posted 04-Nov-2014
Hard Rock Hotel was very nice! Rooms were clean and stayed very clean every day. The founds were very well kept and there were lots of activities for the kids by the pool. We were impressed by the walking distance to Universal. Not far at all! We were also thrilled with the included Universal fast passes the hotel gave us just for staying there! The only complaints we had were that the beds were pretty stiff. We imagined for the price the mattresses would be pillow top or at least somewhat softer than they turned out to be. Also, the air conditioning was an issue. The temp never got below 72 and for us that was a problem. We typically sleep with the temp in our house at 67-68. And yes, those few degrees make a difference. We also felt that for the price, some sort of breakfast should be included. Even if it was just prepackaged items and coffee. The only option was to purchase breakfast from the in house restaurant and the price was pretty steep. There is also a $20 per night parking charge to park your car in their parking lot. $27 if you use valet. I felt like that was also a bit of a stretch. We recommend this to others but definitely be ready to fork out the money.

A VACATION. A TRUE VACATION

Posted 28-Oct-2014
Pros: a lot. the attitude of the staff. the memorabilia to look at. the beds. the view. the landscape. the wide hallways. the express pass gift.
Cons: nothing really. you have comfort zones for the salary caps of the world
Location: City Walk, Movie Theatre for that extra night, there is even a Walmart 10 minutes away. Sounds funny but the temperature dropped 10degrees in 2hrs.
You get what you pay for, and Hard Rock isn't pricey. I tell you what, follow me with the math. Let's say you want to stay at a hotel, to go over to Universal and Islands. Well, you can find a cheaper room, sure you can, but what else is there? The room can cost youuuu, let's say, 75.00 a night. Good. Hard Rock can double that. BUT, what are you getting for half the price? You still have to drive to and from the park, that's gas, and the parking, you have to pay parking. oh, and unless you have a taste for one hour or even two hour lines for a ride, you are gonna dish out a good amount of money for the EXPRESS PASS. I mean, if you are going to stay in a 2star hotel, drive yourself, take a bag of groceries, to wait in a two hour line, a total of six times, and a one hour line, six more times? more power to you. Stay at the Hard Rock, you can walk to CITY WALK, or you can take a water taxi, or get on the bike cabs for a tip. No gas. no parking fees, but Wait! It gets better, EXPRESS PASS is complimentary to Hotel Guests. $$$$$$. Compare the pillows and the bed to a 2star hotel, the stars are there for a reason folks. the view. Get in the elevator and you don't know who might be in there with you. so add it up... cheap hotel, leg work, or, HARD ROCK, and it's a vacation. It's about time the kids aren't the only ones who are in La La Land. and for what? 20 bucks or so? You get a food pass with beverage, and save yourself that "No I bring groceries." What?! Oh you genius travel

Lovely Hotel

Posted 16-Oct-2014
Pros: Rooms and Restaurant
Cons: A proper cafe with lighter snacks for when you do not want a big meal. A deeper pool far too shallow for Adults.
Location: Near the park easy travelling distance to restaurants and to park rides etc
Had a brilliant week in the Hardrock Hotel helpful staff very clean and nice rooms. Excellent restaurant nice pool but too shallow for a descent swim. But ideal if you have small children. And it needs a spacious proper snack cafe for when you dont want a full on meal. But by far the best hotel in the Univeral Park.

Pros: This hotel is located next to the entrance to Universal studios. The walk to the park's entrance is only five minutes from the hotel's pool area.
Cons: The boat transport from the hotel to the park was inconsistent and mostly not available.
Fun pool with sand area and water slide. The Palm restaurant was excellent.
