“Good Splurge”
Room and Hotel very trendy and Lux great stay!!! If I had to complain about anything it would be the vale service dinging the car and the maid service opening the door with the do not disturb sign on the door, they would knock once and open the door without anyone answering them to come in every morning.
“Great Location to Downtown Disney”
Overall, this hotel is a good value, being one block away from Downtown Disney, which offers a lot of free nighttime entertainment and variety of restaurants and shops all oriented toward the family. The bus service to the 4 Disney parks is good with buses arriving every 30 minutes. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful backing to a lake. Parking is free and the area seems to be very safe.
“Enjoyed”
Very good experience
“Overall good stay, minor complaints only”
Buena Vista Palace was overall a good stay, however there are a few things worth noting: - Cafe / deli is quite expensive. Maybe this is standard for the area, but we were very disappointed. Buffet breakfast was $19 + tax and tip, and a la carte options were no better ($15 for a breakfast sandwich? really?) deli was ludicrously expensive, charging up to $10 for a sandwich. Made packing meals for our days unreasonably expensive. - Room got quite cold at night, we were told there was no heater in the rooms so we had no recourse. - Shower heads made for extremely uncomfortable showers. Water pressure was almost painful, and turning down the flow caused pipe noise and reverberation. - Recreational supplies were very poor. We tried using their tennis courts and basketball court. The provided tennis raquets were very cheap, and the balls were also very cheap with cracks. We played for 10 minutes and then gave up. It was very disappointing. The basketballs they provided were also subpar, and we were told it was against regulations to allow frisbees. Very disappointing. - The larger pool was unusable due to the temperature. I don't think we saw any guests in it over the duration of our stay. Some of the positives we enjoyed: - Smaller pool was heated and comfortable, as was the hot tub - Great gym facility - Great bus service - Some good room service deals (pizza) Overall if returning to the area, would probably opt to try another hotel just to compare.
“Will not go back...”
Far from a Palace...and not a resort.... Mini-fridge was all dirty....smelled rotten...TV was falling apart... Personnel was always very courteous though....
“Would go back - staff was wonderful”
My friend and I took advantage of a spa package at the hotel and decided to stay overnight also. The spa staff was wonderful, helpful, and skilled. The hotel was quiet and full of amenities we wish we had the time to take advantage of. Next time we will plan better. We shopped at the nearby outlet mall and there are lots of places to eat close by.
“Stay here if you are looking for something outside of the Disney owned resorts”
The hotel pretty much met all our expectations. The rooms are clean and nice, the concierge is helpful and friendly, and it is very close to all the Disney parks. And most importantly, the beds are very comfortable - these are most appreciated at the end of a tiring day. We had rented our own car, so we did not take the hotel shuttle. Parking was free, which was a definite plus. But then, parking was $14 at Disney World. We were probably better off without the rental car as we did not use it much in Orlando. We did not use the numerous amenities provided by the hotel like the pool, gym, tennis courts etc. as our kids were pretty much done by the time we came back from Disney World.
“Very Good Hotel.”
Very nice place, very convenient for enjoying the city and it's park. I think cleaniness of the rooms can be better.
“good”
great staff, hotel was nice
“Great First visit to Orlando”
Hotel location was great with downtown disney and golf courses within walking distance. The hotel property was fantastic. Parking is a hassle but overall ok. The room was nice however cramped in the sink / closet / bathroom area when two people are trying to get ready at the same time. The balcony was a necessary feature when booking the trip, however the balcony had just enough room for two chairs and was very cramped. Overall the stay was enjoyable but if i booked another Orlando trip i would look to get a different room whether it be in this hotel or at another property.
