“"Would stay there again"”
Hotel staff very nice and pleasent to deal with, got in late at night and we were looked after right away, rooms were clean, cleaning staff did a great job on the towels, it felt like we were staying in a Ritzy place, even the beds were made up nice. Would definitely go back. We had no problems with location as we rented a car to travel to and from. Amazing for the price we paid, was expecting something else, pleasantly surprised, just from reading some of the previous reviews.
“okay at best”
The shower didn't have the best spray, the tub drained slow and the exhaust fan worked lousy... no wonder we had a dehumidifier in our room! It is a great location for Universal, but the 80s decor, funky smell, very firm (hard) beds and a constant on and off hum of a dehudifier didn't make relaxing easy after a day or two of walking. Given all that, we don't have regrets for the cheap price we paid through Expedia. We knew going in that this one was a possibility of the gamble. We won't choose it again if we had to though.
“we will use this hotel every chance we can”
I read all the comments both pro and con,and I even called to verify a few things before going, but we found the stay to be very pleasant. The room was great, the management were very helpfull and friendly. If you are looking for a clean place to sleep at a very reasonable price for a three star hotel, you can't beat it.
“Old, Frumpy,”
Not pleased with the old, somewhat dirty carpets. No additional amenities such as complimentary breakfast. Quite noisy. Could hear lots of noise from adjoining rooms far into the night. Beds were adequate. I wouldn't give this a 3-star rating as does Expedia. It's pretty low class.
“Mother on College Road trip with son”
This hotel was very old and musty; I had to go buy a bottle of air freshener. Also, we had to call the front desk every time we wanted hot water. I let the water run for 10 minutes to get hot it still did not, they sent a maintenance guy to check it out. He left (turned up the hot water heater) came back told me it was fixed. I took a hot shower and then went threw the same steps in the morning for hot water. That is unacceptable and the hotel is very old, the towels and blankets are old and raggedy.
“Orlando - DEMA 2011 trip”
The main problem I had was the service, the front desk just did not seem to care about assisting me with very much, the young lady checking me in conveyed via her attitude that maybe I was disturbing her. The room was okay at the price as was the rest of the hotel, the restaurant adjoining the hotel was convenient. Room was clean and satisfactory (2 star). The Internet service was not the best, but to the management : in this day and age sometimes guests really need connectivity to do work, that pays our way to be able to make these trips, if you can offer it : wi-fi free in lobby areas how much more can it cost to offer it in rooms where we can do our work in comfort at the desk ?
“the room smelt like mold”
I would not stay at this hotel again. After one night I book a room down the road at Wyndham Resort for the same price. Wyndham Resort is gorgeous the rooms are clean. The service is great! Yeah you pay for internet but I will tell you what you won't have a hard bed, a room that smells like m old, a dirty bath tub, poor service, and I could go on and on but I am sure you get the idea that this hotel should be skipped over! Stay at Wyndham you won't regret it I promise you!
“I would go back”
I really like the location and price of the hotel. The service and atmosphere of the hotel was great too. I would recommend this hotel to everyone
“Nothing fancy but worked for us.”
We were going to Universal and wanted something close, inexpensive, and relatively clean. Monumental fit all the criteria we needed. We essentially just wanted a no frills place to crash for two nights that wouldn't be too expensive. The staff was pleasant and speedy even though we really didn't need them for much during our stay. The room did have a slight odor but usually inexpensive hotels do...so that didn't bother us much. Overall the room was clean with really all we needed. The bathroom was clean...the water was a little on the mild side during one shower. The walls are a bit thin but not too bad...the neighbors didn't really keep us awake. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Universal since its practically right around the corner and Wet and Wild is right across the street.
“it's good”
The manager who work on day was so kind so i can complete my journey there are free bus to go Disney world and universal studios
