“not that great..”
stayed two differant nites, booked a friday nite , and a monday nite. the friday nite room was gross, room smelled, toilet seat half unhinged, tv was subpar, just looked like overall maintence not a priority. monday nite room was better, no smell , a little bit cleaner... desk staff nice friendly but not knowledgeable about local surroundings...
“never stay again”
i dont want west my time.
“Not bad for a short stay”
The Metropolitan Resort isn't a bad place to but it just felt old. I'm sure it was "state of the art" in 1970 and it's trying its best to stay modern but at the end of the day it just not as nice as the surrounding hotels. The rooms are plenty big and clean enough but the TV's are old and only half the channels worked on my visit. My cell phone didn't work in the room so it was outside on the balcony every time I needed to make a call. There was free Wi-Fi in the lobby but to use the internet in the room cost $ so each evening I found myself in the lobby checking e-mail. The place was very well priced and had available rooms when everything around it was sold out so in that regard it worked out well. Included with the room was the free use of the YMCA Aquatic Center facility as well. The staff was incredibly friendly and are the main reason I would stay there again. If you're looking for a low cost, simple place to stay for a few days this is it. If you like fancy lobbies, room service and wide screen TV's then you'll need to look elsewhere.
“Don't stay here!”
First off, we were greeted by a unfriendly staff and one of them said they had the flu. The door to the room was jammed and I had to go back down to the lobby to get maintenance to come up and open the door. The web site said the hotel had been renovated, not my room. The room smelled of mold and you could tell that there had been water damage due to the fact that the bottom of the doors were coming apart and the paint was peeling. The toilet ran all night and there were parties going on well past 4 a.m. in the parking lot. I was on the second floor and the next morning the elevator was out of order, so we had to carry all of our bags down the disgusting stairwell, it smelled like a toilet. Oh and the ice machines(all of them) were out of order. Don't stay here!
“Cheap, Basic Accomodations”
Last minute trip to Orlando for the Classic and I didn't want to pay too much for a room I wasn't going to spend too much time in. The price was right but accommodations were not impressive. The beds did not have comforters on them, sheets only. Towels were dingy and the shuttle to theme parks only makes one departing trip at 9 am. Elevator broken and housekeeping was the worse! Good thing I only needed the room to store luggage and change for the club and other events!
“Not our best Expedia pick...”
We booked this hotel primarily for its location. The staff at the front desk were lovely, and the cleaning ladies were nice, but the room itself was pretty bad. The smell of mildew was so overwhelming we considered going to another hotel. Even the towels smelled, when supposedly there had been guests in our room the night before, which meant the towels had been changed. Things in the bathroom were broken, like the toilet paper dispenser, and the drain in the shower, but we ended up staying because we planned on spending a minimum amount of time in the room. It was ok in the end, but I wouldn't book this hotel again.
“Perfect weekend get away”
The hotel for the price was perfect. Close to everything. Only complaint I had was the towels were a little thin. But for the price it was good.
“very good”
everything ok, the only problem is there is no wi-fi in the rooms
“Cheap But Not as Promoted”
Cheap rates, but internet doesn't work in room, TV channel selection awful, room telephone didn't work, half the lights were unplugged, no breakfast or coffee in lobby, elevator was on last leg. New bathroom update, but shower head and water pressure lousy. Bed brokedown on side. No hot water in sink outside bathroom.
