“Definitely Go Back”
The hotel was great and convenient to The Magic Kingdom and surrounding places. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. We requested bunk beds for the kids and we got a room with them. It made it extra special. The kids loved it.
“Love to go back”
My wife and I had a very relaxed and enjoyable stay. The place was beautiful and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We were very impressed that the eating establishments were very aware and accomodating of our gluten sensitivity.
“So very Disney”
We have stayed at practically every Disney hotel and "The Lodge" rates up there with the best. If I had to find a complaint, it would be that it should be a stop on the Monorail. It is so close to the hotels surrounding the Magic Kingdom. With that said, it's just a short boat ride to The Contemporary or the Magic Kingdom.
“high standards fullfilled”
Great Staff, food is lame, great location close to Magic Kingdom.
“Wilderness Lodge - Aug 2011”
Stayed at the Wilderness Lodge from Aug 24th to Aug 31st 2011. 2 adults and 2 children 12 & 10. Lodge was great, beds were very comfortable. Location was nice too, a boat ride to Magic Kingdom and a bus to everywhere else. Buses were 20 min tops. I do reccomend buying the refillable mug when you get to the resort. You pay $15.99 and get unlimited hot or cold beverages the length of your stay at your resort. We waitied until 3 days into our vacation until buying mugs after we realized how much we were paying for drinks. It still paid off! For breakfast we bought bagels in the mercantile (store) and toasted them in the roaring fork cafe. We used the peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese and butter in the sit down section. It saved us money and it filled us up too.
“Nice hotel for families”
Recommend using the "Disney Magical Express" to travel between the airport and resort...very nice hotel...cool theme...nice rooms....great scenery...visited the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot via shuttle bus or boat from the hotel...nice pools, water slide, campfires, movies on the beach, arcade, activities for the kids...we found it clean and comfortable....only issue we encountered involved meals.....need to make reservations well in advance for all restaraunts, otherwise food options are very limited....food is also very pricey....probably the biggest overall expense...if you get a fridge in your room then you can purchase snacks, drinks, and breakfast items from the Merchantile which will help reduce some of the cost...overall, we had a very good experience at the hotel...very family-oriented...wasn't too busy in mid-August...
“Very nice, but overpriced at full price.”
Our stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge was wonderful. The overall ambiance was incredible, the restaurants were unbelievably good (especially Artist Point), the swimming pools were well themed and enjoyable, and the staff was courteous and helpful. Although our room was adequate (standard room with king-size bed), there was nothing "special" about it and definitely not worth the full price that the resort would have charged us. I would not have been able to afford this room without the Expedia deal. This resort has complementary transportation to each of the theme parks, water parks, Downtown Disney, and other resorts/hotels. From the resort's beach, you can watch the Magic Kingdom's nightly fireworks and have front row seats for the evening electric light water pageant. I would definitely go back to this resort - but not at full price...
“Family friendly fun”
We had a lot of and were a quick fairy ride to the magic kingdom. The hotel was very nice and the staff was very accomidateing. I would completely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.
“Favorite Resort”
The ck in manager was extremely nice. We asked if there were any upgrades facing the court yard, he not only gave us a room facing the courtyard but we were facing the lake. the best room we have had at this resort. I believe he overheard my daughter talking about the recent death of my husband, but not sure. It was a dream!
“A solid Disney option”
The lobby is stunning. But beyond that, I found the hotel to be a little dated. Even the crew uniforms looked like they were from the '70s. The room was nice, but average and also was a little dated. Our view was of the back service parking lot and some dumpsters (where's the Disney magic to hide that stuff?) The staff was nice and pleasant to deal with. The room was clean and perfectly acceptable, just don't expect anything special. The refrigerator is hidden behind a cabinet door and if the bellman hadn't pointed it out, we would have never noticed it was there. The ferry service to the park is nice and fairly prompt. Expect to wait no more than 15-20 minutes for the next boat. It's a nice ride in to the park. We used the bus to go to Epcot one day -- not as exciting of a ride, but a nice convenience. It's a nice hotel in a good location. My one major complaint is that the pool is way too small for a resort of that size. We were there in July and there was always someone bumping into you or some kid jumping on top of you. It was difficult to find 3 empty chairs together on the pool deck. The water slide is nice, but it's pretty small. Don't choose this hotel based on the pool.
