In phase one of this property's opening, Disney's Pop Century Resort features 2,880 guestrooms, all decorated in styles reflecting the decades from the 1950s to the 1990s.

Guestrooms provide in-room safes, phones with voice mail, and high-speed Internet access (surcharge). Bathrooms have separate vanity areas with hair dryers. Cribs, and irons with ironing boards are available on request; refrigerators are available on request for a daily fee. Preferred rooms are closer to the main building (with the food court) and the pools than the Standard rooms are.

Rollaway beds are available on request for rooms with king beds only (nightly surcharge); bed boards and bed rails are also available. Travelers with disabilities may request accessible rooms; visual smoke alarms and TDD telephones for hearing-impaired guests are also available on request.

Everything Pop Shopping and Dining - The hotel's 640-seat food court has four different counter-service shops and a Grab-N-Go Market with a variety of dishes for quick, convenient meals. Choices include sandwiches, salads, pizza, pasta, burgers, full dinners, baked goods, and ice cream.

Classic Concoctions - Located in the food court, this nighttime-only lounge has two TVs and serves cocktails, beer, wine, and appetizers such as nachos and shrimp cocktails.

Petals Pool Bar - Snacks are served poolside at this seasonal outdoor bar just outside the Everything Pop Shopping and Dining food court.

Guests can also receive pizza delivery to their rooms during evening hours.

“Not what I expected”

It definitely needs renovating. Too old. Couldn't sleep because of the uncomfortable beds. The staff members at the food court could be nicer, but the registration staff members were pleasant.

“So so”

Pop Century was very clean and the staff extremely polite. Our preferred room ( 2 Adults, 2 Kids ) was very very small. No place to put luggage, no coffee pot, fabric hanging to separate bedroom and wash area. Wash area extremely small. Not impressed..We probably wouldn't stay there again .

Area recommendations

Would recommend staying on Route 192,located right outside of Disney. Many hotels,restaurants with fair pricing and lots of mini golf,and stores..

“OK - You get what you pay for.”

Although the hotel is clean, grounds keep nicely and our room was handicap accessible I kept thinking I was in a dormitory setting. Older people with rental electric scooters were all over. Made my heart feel good. The food, since you are a captive audience was OK, but offered little variety for a vegetarian diet. Wanted a Tuna Sandwich ($8.99) at 11:15 am and was told they could not serve the sandwich until 11:30 am. I guess it all seems proper for a Mickey Mouse organization. All Disney all the time! However, the kids seemed to love it.

Area recommendations

This is set in the Disney World property. The hotel provides Bus transportation to and from Orlando International Airport at no additional cost. However, you must call the hotel directly a week or two in advance to request the bus service. It's worth the call.

“Great deal on a Disney Stay”

This was my second visit to Pop Century Resort and I plan to return. The rooms are small, but fine for 2 people (could fit a couple and two small children). I stayed with my preteen. It was clean, convenient and included the Disney Magic Hours and Magical Express which truly enhanced my trip. The main pool is great, the gift shop nice, and the variety of food offerings good in the on-site dining area. The maid service included the Disney touch of "towel animals" and the bus servic e was efficient. If you are on a budget, this is a good choice of Disney hotels--cheap, yet with some of the extras.

Area recommendations

I highly recommend staying at a Disney Resort, because of the Extra Magic hours and the bus service. This made traveling comfortable for me and my daughter. I enjoyed being taken to the Parks and not having to worry about parking and finding my vehicle late at night. The waits for buses were relatively short. The longest we waited was about 15 minutes. Our location was ideal because we only visited the Disney Parks.

Dining

I found dining at Disney much more expensive and with more hassles than it was just two years ago. This is possibly because Disney is offering with their package deal free dining. Its restaurants truly cater to those who have purchased the meal plan. If that is a reasonable option to add to your travel, I do suggest it. The longest Disney lines I waited in were those for food.

“The right price and quality mix for a fun Disney experience!”

This is a great disney resort when what you really want to do is spend your money and time at the park and not the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the grounds are fun but the food options are limited. All-in-all I'd stay again.

“Very good for the price”

Nice hotel. Transportaion was very good. Has a pretty good food cour. We were there in November, it was too cold to swim. So we did not have chance to expirience pool. Overall, was better then we expected.

“Horrible check in wait, rooms tiny!!!”

“My Favorite”

I love this hotel and stay there every year when I go to WDW. It is comfortable and convenient. I only had one issue this time. I reserved a king bed when I but when I checked in, I was told the room they could provide for me had two double beds. It was kind of uncomfortable for my fiance and I to squeeze onto one of the double beds, but we survived. Other than that, the hotel didn't disappoint!

Events and shows

If you make reservations for the Fireworks Dessert Party at the Magic Kingdom, make sure you don't need a separate entrance ticket for a special event, e.g. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, or you could end up paying more than you thought.
