"Ideal location and base, after we found the hotel"
My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the hotel from the 3rd to 7th November. We had some initial trouble finding the hotel (from Alexanderplatz either take the S-Bahn to Hackescher Markt when you are a stones throw from the hotel) or follow the train line bridge south and you will arrive at Am-Pm bar (unmistakable due to the hanging chairs outside which are so comfortable) and take a left at which point you will find the hotel. The hotel and facilities are at the top end of the scale (and can say this having stayed at some plush hotels before). I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has not been (or even has been) to Berlin before.
Location was brilliant near a number of restaurants, shopping and quick walk into center. Rooms are lovely. Was there for marathon and one downside is restaurant that provides breakfast did not open early enough to accommodate runners.
I spent the most delightful weekend at hotel Augustinenhof. From check in to check out, the experience was amazing. The staff go out of their way for you, offering advice and even held my bag on my last day so that I could spend the last few hours enjoying Berlin, without dragging my luggage around. The room was spotlessly clean, TV with some English news channels, mini bar and free WiFi. It's also on a beautiful street full of art galleries and designer boutiques. There are cafes, bars and restaurants within a minutes walking distance in every direction. Oranienstrasse ubahn is five minutes walk and Museum Island approximately 10 minutes. Berlin was amazing. I will return next year and will stay at this hotel.
Attending a conference in Berlin and was booked here by the university. We stayed on for an extra week at our own expense. The "standard room" is small but very clean, great staff, and hotel is convenient to cafes, museums and walking around. The english- language version of the website is not as detailed at the German version and it suggests that the hotel may not accept credit cards once you are there. They do take credit cards and can also help you with ubahn tickets, stamps, etc. Great breakfasts though pricey if you don't plan on a long relaxing meal. That internet is available for free in the lobby made the lingering breakfast attractive. Loved the courtyard sitting area. The staff bi-lingual was incredibly helpful with directions. And I will certainly stay there again.
We found the hotel to be very nice and comfortable. It was in an area with a large number of restaurants and was a few minutes walk to a large shopping area. Around the corner was a train station so in poor weather or for long journeys there was that convenience. The staff at the hotel were courteous and helpful and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was good, both in terms of the food served and the surroundings. Again the staff was excellent. The hotel is located near Musum Island and and the cathedral and is within about a 20 min walk to Brandenburg Gate; so the location is excellent. All in all, Berlin is a great place to visit and this hotel certainly contribtes to that feeling.
