God Awful Service

Water in the shower was up to my ankles. Gross. No blanket in closet and no lock box to place valuables in. Called room service 3 times and was on hold for over 15 mins each time so I'd hang up and try again, only to never get a hold of anyone. Called the operator to speak with manager about all this and was on hold for 9 minutes waiting for a manager before I lost patience and hung up again. Horrible hotel. Better service at a Hampton inn.

We just didn't enjoy our stay here - we stayed for one night on a Saturday over a weekend and found the whole place to be a bit tired and lacking any charm at all. The room was bland and small and the whole place just felt like a large beige hotel from the eighties. The staff were friendly enough but the service wasn't great. We were running late arriving at the hotel and wanted to call to find out whether we could check-in late. It was a half hour drive to the hotel from where were and we remained on hold for the whole drive - we actually arrived at the hotel before anyone answered our call. The other thing I really didn't like was all the added extras. There is no point (in my view) to quote a price for a hotel room and then add on 2 kinds of taxes, $30 valet parking, $12 for wifi and an expensive breakfast, because really the whole experience ends up being a lot more expensive. We were quoted $269 for the room and with taxes, breakfast (continental) and valet (included in many hotels) it ended up being $433. They should just quote a more reasonable price - at the very least, including the taxes which you have no option but to pay. The only good thing about the hotel was the location and the buffet breakfast was lovely. But we would probably not return again.

I am sorry to hear your recent stay at our hotel did not meet, or exceed, your expectations. The long hold you encountered while driving to the hotel is unacceptable and I will address it with Front Office management so that we may improve moving forward. The additional charges for parking and internet are comparable with other full service hotels in the area. We are one of the only hotels in the area to offer both self and valet parking. For a more cost effective option, guests can park in our self-parking garage with more than 500 spaces. I hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to welcome you and show you what an exceptional experience we can provide!

Disappointing.

Location: Mall, coast nearby
Room was small. Someone had smoked in the room, matches and butts on the balcony. Safe was locked when we arrived, had to have security open it. Hotel was evacuated for a fire on Thursday and alarm kept going for an hour after everyone was allowed back in the hotel, till midnight. All this for $300 / night.

It was a very nice, clean Hotel, great breakfast food. Extremely nice and friendly staff. The Location was great, walking distance to Fashion Island.

Wonderful hotel

Pros: Quiet. No loud partying. Could see the ocean and overlook a golf course.
Location: Fashion Island right across the street and the beach just short blocks away. The Gondola Company just a short 15 minute drive from the hotel as well.
Wonderful hotel. Had a room with a partial ocean view on the 10th floor. Everything as expected. Self parking was easy as was checking in and out. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Pros: the renovation is beautiful
Cons: The hotel did not have proper staffing leveles in the food and beverage areas / pool / restaurant / lounge ....staff correctly
Hotel is beautiful but way understaffed during a sellout 4th of July weekend.
