“Decent”

Overall good, heater in room didn't work, but room was nice

whenever i write a review on here, i usually do it comparing apples to apples, in this case - 2 star hotels. that said, this place is pretty good for the price paid. was here 7 nights just last week. rooms have microwave/mini ref/sink/cabinets. all you're missing is a stove and you have your own studio... building is a little outdated (maybe built late 70s?, not sure). there's also a bar-b-q area in one of the courtyards. nothing fancy, but good for small get-togethers and such. breakfast consists of coffee, aj (apple) & oj, toast, fruit (apples, orange wedges), cereal, oatmeal, and --- waffles, the kinds you put on the griddle yourself, hot & ready in 2min 30 sec! the other hotel 200 ft across the street costs $3-5 less per night, but doesn't include wifi, and their breakfast is only coffee/juice/muffins. i was there 4 nights the week prior, and they cleaned the room only once. i was relieved this place cleaned our room - daily, mind you. tip: if you want 4 or 5 star hotel, then don't look here. this is more for budget-minded, no-frills, just-need-comfort-or-convenience type of travelers. what's nearby: supermarket, target (about half mile away). mcd's, diner and another restaurant within walking distance across the street.

The hotel just isn't that nice but the bed was comfortable and the location was perfect for the places we were visiting .

“Not worth the money”

I called Howard Johnson directly to find out if there was continental breakfast and was told that it had "made to order breakfast." Not true. It was continental. Disappointed that there were no elevators to the other level. The the lights had sensors. The bathroom light turned on and off all day and night long, even when you were in the bathroom. All of us had dark showers daily. Told management the light issue and they came and changed the entry door sensor. Go figure. If you just want a place to sleep, it is fine. If you want more, don't expect much.

“Loose Screws”

There are lots of hotels in this area, a great convenient area! So do not get suckered into this one by a $10-20/night difference. I know for next time that this hotel is not worth the cheaper price you pay. If I was just passing through for one night it would've been at least a little acceptable, but to stay more then 2-3days was hard. I titled this "loose screws", first the small area of tiles in the little kitchen had 2 lrg screws sticking up that my 1yr. old son tripped on, hit his mouth on the tile floor and bled from the mouth. I know things happen but the entire room was just a hazard. The 2nd was the metal towel rack/shelf in the bathroom that was hanging onto the wall by 2 screws, which by the way were not even anchored in. Neither the bathroom, nor the kitchenette sink drained. It typiclly took about 20min. for the water to go down so the next person could brush their teeth. Lastly, the carpet was so filthy that you didn't even want to open the curtains b/c when the sun shined in just taking a step showed the snow storm of dust coming up. My husband who has allergies, and my son who has never had an allergy episode were both sneezing, & had constant watery eyes while we were in our room but stepping outside both were fine. I did notice while walking past another room while it was being cleaned, that this other room was brand new- furniture, tv, carpet, etc. since there are no rooms that are more money then others I'm not sure how you can get that room(s)

“No Complaints-Worth the price I paid”

I was very satisfied with my hotel stay. I wasn't aware of the great amenities that came with the room and continental breakfast. Front Desk was very friendly and house keeping was great!! I would stay again & recommend to others
