“Decent clean hotel for short stay”

The personnel were pleasant. My room was clean and neat. The bed was comfortable. There was no noise from other guests which was quite nice. Breakfast room did not have sufficient seating. Hotel is located on a busy street, so there is some traffic noise at night. They charge for printing! So it costs to print your boarding pass.

“Great Location”

The hotel is conveniently located along PCH. Across the street are a couple small restaurants and fast food places with easy access to state park. The room was very comfortable. I enjoyed the large whirl-pool tub after a long day. Breakfast is small but includes all the basics. Would definitely stay here again.

“Frank and Lorraine”

Very nice, very clean and very helpful staff. Would stay there again. Spot on for the money we paid.

“Service not up to standard”

Room was nice and included a jacuzzi. Reception checkin was not at all welcoming, something that continued throughout my stay. I will stick with the Doubltree just a few hundred yards up the road.

“Holiday Express had a luxurious touch and great service--I was thrilled”

Everything was so new, so clean and luxurious. Our bed was firm but surprisingly comfy and I felt well rested. I liked having the choice of 2 firm and 2 soft pillows on the king sized bed. The room sided to PCH but was surprisingly quiet! Big screen TV in bedroom and one in bathroom suite for viewing from the deep jacuzzi tub for two. Lots of soft beautiful towels. Quality soaps, etc. I liked the decor and the arched entry into the bath suite. Microwave and refrigerator. Now I plan to purposely book Hotel Express rooms. I was delighted and surprised at what a bargain this was and how luxurious. There was plenty of parking near our room. The staff was very hospitable and only too happy to help and please us. The free breakfast buffet the following morning was delicious and included lots of delicious treats--fresh fruit, cheese omelet, orange juice and scrumptious cinnamon rolls. We were close to all the attractions in Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano that we wanted to enjoy. Yes, I will eagerly check into Holiday Inn Express again. It is my new secret Bed and Breakfast Inn in Dana Point.

“On the Highway”

This hotel is wedged onto a narrow lot between the highway and a three story retaining wall. It was a little ragged around the edges but mostly clean. The bedroom is large and the king bed quite nice but the second room was small and the fold out couch very small. The breakfast was not too good and the breakfast room way too small. If you're looking for basic accomodations for younger children that is walking distance to the beach, this will work.

“Between San Diego and LA”

The Hotel is Close to the Beach and Dana point has a small town feel. This is centrally located between LA and San Diego. If you want 1 place to stay do activities in both areas it is a good location.

“Nice Location for South Orange County”

At first our room wasn't the best the Hallway carpet was torn wrinkled and dirty, the phone didn't work and there was no hot water. We visited during a very hot and humid time of year and the A/C never kept up. After informing the front desk they upgraded us to and Ocen view King suite, everything about this room was great except the A/C, we had it on nonstop and it was very loud. At check in I sensed a little attitude from staff, they tried to charge us for parking even though it was advertized as free with the room

“Dana Point HIE”

Loved the breakfast options. A couple of chairs on our lanai would have been nice.
