We got a great rate for the room! It is in a perfect location but of you decide not to leave the hotel forests and drinks you will spend a ton of $$!!! There are restaurants and beautiful places right outside of the hotel if you are willing you walk a little...10 - 15 mins. This hotel is a long way from tourist destinations but in some ways that is a good thing!
Hotel seemed quite empty, didn't make use of the breakfast so can't comment on that. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. However it does take quite a while to get anywhere, takes around 10 minutes to walk to the nearest Metro stop, it then takes 20-25minutes to get to Termini (obviously a lot of attractions are closer than this).
Room was clean, beds were comfortable, shower was decent but there were no plugs for use apart from one in the bathroom (we had a TV which we unplugged to get another).
Good hotel in the area of "Pineta Sacchetti". Some rooms have view of Saint Peter. Garage with self parking is only 5 euro/day, but at check-out they told us that it was free for us. Great service. Good breakfast. We appreciated the fact that the room can be left the last day at noon.
My girlfriend and I chose this apartment to have the convenience of a kitchen and a pool (seeing as our visit was at the end of June) and it appeared good value.
The apartment was a fantastic size, with spacious balcony and bathroom and kitchen were very clean and good quality appliances.
The hotel itself had no flaws and we couldn't have been happier. The only issue is that you feel a little out of town... BUT the train station is right on your doorstep. The "tobachi" next door sells train + metro tickets at €1.50 and it takes about 15 mins to pop up at most central sites. Alternatively, a bus takes you straight to Vatican (although we never actually took this).
Rest assured, we had a couple of later nights in the city after dinner and a taxi home was around €15.
Finally, one of the best meals we had was actually in the restaurant right next door to the hotel which we went to after a particularly long touristy day!
Would recommend this apartment if you want somewhere to relax as well as do site seeing. Perhaps better for those staying a week rather than weekend getaway.
Located in the vicinity of the Vatican City in the district of Balduina the 3 Star Mallia Residence Hotel is surrounded by a …More
I have stayed in several hotels for business abroad but this one was on a personal visit. So the hotel was good, the staff friendly, food great and I would rate 4 out of 5 .
As they say you can say a lot about someone during a lost luggage and a rainy day (Its not just about the person who lost, but the ones who make a difference). I lost my valuables and passport and had to run between the cops and the embassy. The hotel became my home until I got everything resolved. that's when I realized this wasn't just another hotel. right from cheerful conversations (Each one of them at the reception and the bar man) to getting my print outs on time, even getting my passport photograph cut to perfection, the staff were with me! when I bid adieu, it was like for some good friends..
We were in Italy for about 12 days and travelled Rome, Venice, Lake Como and Milan. But our best stay was in Rome in the Romantic Nest.
The apartment is super convenient. It is within easy reach of the city centre and anything you'd want to see in Rome. It is also walking distance to Stadio Olimpico, so we'd highly recommend it if you're in Rome to watch soccer.
It is also very near the supermarket and plenty of eateries if you don't feel like cooking.
Luca is friendly and extremely helpful. We cannot be more thankful.
This upscale residential area is largely comprised of villas and embassies but also popular landmarks such as Ponte Milvio, bustling with restaurants and shopping. Encompassing the Monte Mario natural reserve and the astronomical observatory, the Olympic Stadium is also located in this area. The stadium is one of the largest in Europe, and home to the famous soccer teams AS Roma and SS Lazio.
