The Hotel is lovely, clean and the staff are friendly as well as very helpfull. Our room was a superior room and perfect for our 4 day stay. We would definately come back to the hotel. there is also a number of lovely cafes and resaurants around the Hotel as well as a short walk into florence centre.
There is a fabulous family restaurant only 5 mins walk from the hotel called Amicofrizz, the food is delicious and the family atmosphere very special, furthermore all the local Florentines eat there with their families. We were made very welcome and made to feel special, also if its not on the menu, ask Florina or Marcelo the owners and they will ask their chef to make the dish for you if they can.
Villa Cora is a beautiful Florence property on a hill south of the river just a ten minute drive from Florence city centre. Nearby are the Boboli garden and Pitti palace.
The building is quite splendid and the garden and setting are gorgeous.
Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was excellent.
Most importantly the service was faultless.
They run a shuttle bus to the city centre if you need it.
We would recommend it very strongly

We returned yesterday from a 8 night stay at the Park palace. We had a wonderful time. With a short walk (20 minutes, some uphill) from the city centre, the hotel is a perfect location for exploring Florence.
The hotel staff were really friendly and went out of their way to recommend restaurants for our wedding anniversary as well as booking tables and taxis as needed.
The hotel itself has a restaurant which serves good quality food and there is also a great restaurant (chalet fontana) a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
The rooms are clean and tidy, with good views and there is plenty of space to relax.
Beautifully decorated place to stay, in the centre of the city, away from the madness of the tourist locations. Excellent staff, willing to assist each and every step of the way, from booking right up to departure. Breakfast was plentiful. Location excellent. Highly recommended and will be my place to stay in Florence, always!
Stayed here for 3 nights. Everything was perfect, except for one day when a movie was being filmed and a few streets were closed. Due to location, it became "impossible" to get a taxi. This caused us to miss an event we were participating in the city. We ended up walking into the city which took us a bit over an hour, but what amazed me of all this was that everyone seemed to think there was only one way from the city to the hotel. We ended up taking a taxi back to hotel which simply took an alternate route. I discussed this with him and he also said there should be no problem getting a cab to hotel, all they need to do is take the same route he did. Just FYI, you cannot flag taxis in Italy. as we walked over to the city, several empty taxis drove by but they do not stop. You need to get them at designated taxi locations or call for them.
Check in was great and we were most unexpectedly upgraded to a wonderful room. The majority of the staff are excellent and helpful. The hotel restaurant was very nice and the food good. We had a great time until our check-out. There is a horrible old woman who appears to be in charge of the reception desk who ruined our check-out with her nasty, unhelpful manner. Apparently, no-one has EVER in her entire experience wanted the hotel to mail postcards for them!!! She was absolutely horrible and totally ruined what, up to that time, had been an exceptionally lovely stay. Because of her attitude, the reception staff appear to be unhappy and afraid, which is really sad.
The name literally means beyond the Arno, the river that runs through Florence. On this side of the city, Piazzale Michelangelo provides a postcard-perfect view of Florence and the hills beyond. Palazzo Pitti has a rich history, and today houses a large number of museums and art galleries. The eclectic mix of Florentines living in Oltrarno make it a must-see for anyone seeking an authentic Florence experience.
