“Honest, sincere friendliness”

If it was only for the installations, the Semanapaq would rate very well in its contetx. Rooms are fine (although a bit cold, which was compensated by abundant blankets, conforters and a requested heather), breakfast was great, prepared dinner a treat. But what makes this place is the heart and soul of their owners/operators James and Vanela. I dare anybody to find more helpful, caring, detail oriented host anywhere, even in tourist oriented places like Cusco and the Sacred Valley. It was a pleasure.

Area recommendations
Going to Macchu Picchu has to be a must for human beings. Cusco, Pisaq, Ollataytambo, Maraes are also great wonders. If you can, start your trip in the Valley, go to MC and then to Cusco thus avoiding the "sorochje" wich may really bother your pleasure. The Hiram Bingham train Cusco/MC is worthed the price going to MC, but you may skipped in the return and save some money... or take it and be pampered once again! Relax and stop to hear the mountains and wind. The Inkas got it right.
When to go
Better in April, May and June, before the very high season but after the rain.

“Sacred Valley Star”

Absolutely fantastic 3 night stay!! Hotel is located within a secure compound that includes a gorgeous botanical garden and the hostess' pottery shop. Owners James and Manela are most gracious and knowledgeable about local sites and scenes. Convenient to downtown Ollantaytambo and rail station with a hike to Inca ruins only a few yards away. Great breakfast and tea and internet available in the main lounge. Highly recommended!
