"Good safe welcoming hotel in la candelabra, bogota"
Everyone. was very helpful, buffet breakfast excellent and the room self, bright, airy and
comfortable.. We overlooked the rear, so the view was limited. The key is that the hotel was ideally placed for the La Candelaria district a nd the gold museum. Safety is a consideration in Bogota so the 24 hour security at the entrance was important.

Employees were professional, accommodating, and very helpful with luggage, check-in and out.
The hotel is clean, modern decor, great restaurant and lobby.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I had the (2) best nights sleep of our 10 day trip there.
I would only suggest putting the do not disturb sign on your door. I forgot to do so and was woken up twice, a friend had his door knocked on three times for various reasons, laundry, mini bar inventory, etc.
Overall, I was highly satisfied. I would definitely stay here again.
We spent two nights in the unique small hotel uphill from the center of government. It has a unique decor, large beams, stone floors, spiral stairs, two fountains, brick and stucco walls. The rooms were charming and very comfortable. We had wooden shutters to keep out the light. A 10-minute walk downhill brought us to the main street of the old town. Best was Carlos, the gentleman at the desk, who speaks English and Dutch. He could arrange day trips and taxi rides. Be warned that, in wet weather, the small yellow taxis may not be able to get up the hill.

Very nice hotel, very close to Museo del oro and Candelaria neighborhood. Right in fron the best bookstore of the city (Lerner). For researchers, close to Luis Angel Arango Library and Biblioteca Nacional. Very close to Uniandes as well. Plenty of restaurants around.

Nice boutique hotel but the expedia listing is incorrect. THERE is NO fitness center. The rooms are very small but wdll insulated from street noise. While it is safe during the dsy, do not venture oug lste at night without door to door taxis.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Casa Deco Hotel! For starters, I arrived in Bogota from the US at ~ 7am and the hotel allowed me to check in early (~730am) without paying any fees. They also let me have the complimentary breakfast while I waited.
The hotel is ~ 2 blocks from Candelaria and ~ 1 mile from the base of the cerro montserrat climbing trail. This means plenty of bars/restaurants/clubs in the area, but the noise wasn't too bad after I closed the windows. There are always (legit) taxis waiting in front of the hotel. There is a pharmacy less than 1 block away and money exchange 4 blocks away.
The hotel staff is invariably friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to speak spanish. There is always complimentary coffee in the lobby. The breakfast is mediocre but free.
The price is very appropriate.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

this a very nice hotel, in a very difficult area. If you like a simple non modern hotel this is a good one. The staff is friendly and the room is very clean.love the fact that what you see on internet is what you get. Now the area around it is not safe after dark, and that they let you know ones you there. My recommendation is to move around in the taxi that the hotel provides. Tip: don't forget to say on immigration that you are visiting this will help you not to pay the impose tax fits.
I was in this hotel during my trip in Bogota, it's situated a walk distance from all big attraction in the old city (gold museum, monserrat, plaza della republica etc etc).
the room was comfortable and clean but little bit small. the staff really nice and helpful in particular a girl at the reception call Andrea. only problem there is only one person that speak english fluently, but they can undrestand my horrible spanish and advise me on everything i can need.
i would stay here again if i will come back to bogota!
