“Clean and Comfortable”

Attending Formal in area, decided not to drive home, hotel not impressive from the outside, but room was large, clean and had two comfortable queen beds.

“Flea Bag hotel”

I can't believe Days Inn or expedia would attatch their name to this hotel. It looks like it could be rented by the hour!

“It could have been worse”

This Days Inn was not what I expected, having stayed in others across the country. It is an old facility that may have been nice when it was new (although I doubt it), but is now run-down. The bathroom is extremely tight and desperately in need of a re-do. Mgmt is currently trying to spruce up the rooms by replacing the vanities, but there is only so much they can do with what they have to work with. I had just stayed at a Best Western in Newport, R.I. for the same amount of money (although a group rate) which was twice as nice. The continental breakfast consisted of 2 cereals, 2 juices and bread for toast - not what one has come to expect in this age. Would I stay here again if I had the chance? Probably not.

“will not return”

You get what you pay for...the room appeared to have been used for many college parties, bathroom door had a big hole in it, the carpet was dirty. I knew this was not a 4 star hotel when I booked it and you get what you pay for. Probably would have been worth an extra 20 bucks to book a nicer hotel.

“Not as nice as expected”

Room was musty even after running the air conditioner. Continental breakfast was marginal at best.

Old run down motel. Room was shabby and not clean. Curtains were falling off the hooks.

“Comfortable”

One has to keep in mind that a lot of places on the East Coast are older and this hotel was no exception. I knew it as a child as the Sandpiper Inn. It was very clean, the staff was most accommodating and the room was comfortable, although it looked as if there had perhaps been some damage previously in our room. If you are used to luxury this is not your hotel, but for a family or a comfortable place to stay it fits the bill.

“Very nice accommodations”

I stayed at the Old Saybrook Days Inn to attend my grandson's high school graduation, as the hotel is about 1/2 mile from my daughter and her family's home. Everything was great except the bed was not that comfortable--mattress too firm and the pillows too "bouncy." I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.
