The Vain is a very nice place. The staff couldn't be more gracious or more helpful. The breakfast is fantastic. There's a very sweet roof deck (with a great jacuzzi) that nobody ever seems to use. The building is a lovely old house, with great curb appeal, that has been elegantly refurbished. The location is wonderful and less than a thirty-second walk from the hotel's front door is a bistro, recommended by the hotel staff, that is simply extraordinary (called Las Pizarros Bistro, or something like that). The room (we had a "junior") is nice, though not special in any way. But The Vain is really a perfectly lovely place to stay in Palermo.
This little unassuming hotel on the main floor of an older building has a lovely charm with updated bathrooms, 18' ceilings and lovely little seating areas with skylights. Juliette and Alejandro treat you like royalty without being stuffy. They took care of the forms for our day trip to Uruguay and visas for Brazil, offered suggestions for activities and booked them for us, and the desk is always covered with security cameras for the main door and public areas. Charming aesthetic in hip neighborhood. I stayed in the largest room #1 which isn't really a suite but there was plenty of room for a roll away to sleep my son.
Great boutique hotel in a hip upscale location. Rooms were very modern and clean. Staff was helpful, some spoke English. Walk distance to many sights, cafes, bars, and good restaurants. I would definitely stay there again!
The Hotel is located in a great location, Palermo Soho. Hufflington Post calls it one of the sexiest locations gloabally. I agree. The staff was so so very great, kind, hospitable and attentive. In general, the rooms were good but when it comes to details it is disappointing. When we first checked in the door for room's balcony was impossible to lock. The beds were extremely small and there was almost no internet reception. I insisted to change and the staff was kind enough to attend. We were relocated into a great room facing the garden. However, this room had a severe humidity problem. The humidty smell was so heavy that it got on our clothes and again the internet reception was not good.
I would not blame the staff for any of the above obviously the operator of the Hotel does not invest. My overall idea is that it's much better idea to stay in a Western chain to get all comfort you are used to in a hotel. On the other hand all other guests seemed to be very happy with their stay. Perhaps i might have been expecting too much.
