I had a small bit of difficulty identifying the hotel. (as did another guest who stopped me looking for directions) Parking was provided on the street, however I required a parking permit from the hotel to allow me time for check-out. Another parking facility was available, but it was further down the street, so not very convenient. The hotel was in a great location within walking distance of shopping, pubs/restaurants and walking trails. I had a clean comfortable bed and nice bathroom.
My late, early evening, arrival was not a problem for the proprietor. The house had a homely feel and my room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well provisioned. The breakfast was excellent in a dining room that encouraged friendly conversation with proprietors and other guests. After check-out, my luggage was held until time for my late afternoon train.
On my arrival (my husband was cycling from Warkworth) I was immediately offered a fresh scone with homemade jam and cream, and a pot of tea, in the beautiful garden. I then felt guilty because Maureen did it all again when my husband turned up. We had dinner at a very pleasant pub a short drive away then retired to our very comfortable room, where every detail had been thought of. Breakfast was delicious.
This was one of the best B&B that we have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated, very comfortable and cosy. The location is in the countryside is very quiet and peaceful. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable and great breakfasts. We were warmly welcomed by our host Angus to his residence and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Wanted overnight accommodation close to Lindisfarne and we could not have found anywhere better than Primrose Cottage. Received a warm welcome from our hosts who made sure we were comfortably settled in our excellent accommodation. We had a twin room with en-suite bathroom and a lovely private sitting room. Everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and roomy.
