I booked this hotel on Expedia and was offered room 6. Rather annoyingly, I was directed up hill and down dale to get to it when it was simply through another door on the ground floor. The room was on the ground floor and facing the street. No major problem except that I had requested a quiet room. The major problem was the bed: It was a small single with an iron head and foot board. I'm nearly 2m tall so wouldn't fit at all! I went back to reception and was told that I had that room because I'd booked through Expedia and if I wanted a bed which I could fit in, it would be extra! Luckily one of my colleagues offered to swap as she's quite short so a diplomatic incident was averted.
Thereafter, I had no problems at all. Be sure to tell the staff what you want for breakfast or else you'll get a plate with fruit, eggs & bacon, cold meats and cheese and what I took to be yoghurt & honey on it! Comprehensive if not very appetising.
The rooms aren't huge but are adequate. Showers are hot and powerful enough and the Milton Brown toiletries are a plus.
I'd stay here again as it's conveniently located and largely pleasant.
Althogh the hotel looks a bit tired from the outside it is lovely inside. Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. They offer a very good breakfast buffet. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the hotel overlooking the harbour and giving wonderful views over the city. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful. Initially we had problem with our booking which was quickly resolved - brilliant customer service. They also offered us good advice on things to see and do.
Only stayed for one night on business. Hotel centrally located, not far from the river where there are some nice bars and cafes. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was fine, I requested a queen sized bed but got a king, which was actually two beds pushed together with separate duvets. Only disappointment was the shower. Warm enough but low pressure.
