“Decent Stay”

Overall it was a decent stay at the resort. I LOVED the town of Ocho Rios, and the culture. This was my 3rd stay in Jamaica, 1st time in Ocho Rios. First I will start with the GOOD: 1) Great location - right smack in the middle of the town of Ocho Rios, easy walking distance to shopping, restaurants, etc.... 2)Great view - Beautiful location, nice beach, always easy to get a beach chair 3)Pools were nice - lots of pools, waterslide 4)Easy to get get drinks - not very crowded during our stay Now the Bad: 1)Service was not very good - they always seem to run out of things, or not willing to go out of the way to get something you need. We were given the "handicap" room and they just laughed at us at the front desk and eventually replaced the room. 2)The hotel was being renovated - the main beautiful buffet area was shut down, so the entire stay we had to eat at the makeshift buffet setup in a totally different area that wasn't nearly as nice. If I would have known this I would have delayed my stay here. 3)The a la carte restaurants are RARELY open. We arrived and the restaurants were booked for the next 2 days!! After that, the ONLY option was the Asian Restaurant for the next 2 days!! The seafood and Italian were closed both days!! Don't expect to eat at all of the A la carte restaurants... I only was able to get into 1 for our 5 day stay. Overall it was a decent resort. But you will love the Town, Dunn's River Falls, and Mystic Mountain!! Do them all!

“OK for families”

The hotel was OK, the food was OK. It would have been better if there were more people. We went on 11/24-12/3. The hotel was only at 30% capacity. So it kinda got boring.

“Horrible”

Awful service, rooms not cleaned and never got new towels without asking at least 3 times. Do not go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Location and staff will be the only reason I go back.”

Dissatisfied that the resort did not have activities all throughout the day. Dissatisfied that the resort no longer serves ackee. Dissatisfied that you can not bring food to your room. Dissatisfied with the operator and housekeeping. Extremely satisfied with friendly staff in restaurants, bars and bell boys. Great service from Marlon, Gregory, Kemar, Kevin and the buffet staff. Enjoyed the two activities by the poolside hosted by the djs.

“Great resort for family vacations”

this was my 5th time at Sunset Jamaica Grande, it was great again, lovely all inclusive at the right price, would recommend to anyone on a budget, right in the middle of the town, so you cannot be bored, check it out.

“Very Happy Guest”

The Sunset Jamaica Grande is an AWESOME hotel. Please steer clear of any "picky" reviews you may say as this is not the Ritz Carlton. The service was great in all aspects, the amenities boundless, 4 different restaurants to choose from, the beaches were beautiful, the pools and jacuzzi were very clean!.... This is a great place to stay and I highly recommend it!

“Never again!”

We were very disappointed with this hotel. It was poorly maintained, the food was not very good and there was construction going on around the room we were given. We had to get our key reprogrmmed three times and one night we had a leak in our ceiling. A real vacation buzz kill.
