“Felt like I was in paradise!”

The setting of the hotel is tremendous. Rooms are individual cottages so no noisy next door neighbours/noise in corridor's etc. Rooms are spacious and clean, some are a bit dated but are being upgraded all the time. Staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Food is very good and there is something for everyone. i will definately be back to this resort.

    “Total Fun and Relaxation”

Tucked away you would never know such an awesome place is there. We were greeted by the ever smiling bellboy Mr Lugg and ushered to the receptionist area for check in and receive our welcome drinks. The property was well kept, staff smiling, one drop reggae music in the background and the bar was constantly buzzing and guest kept well entertained by the Jerome the main bar tender. The variety of food was great, so too was the beverages available for our pickings. It was a rainy weekend so lots of time was spent in the comfort of the cottage. Sunday we had lovely sunshine and as always the Fun Crew kept guest occupied. Maximum respect to the Fun crew.

    “3rd time back”

Charming for the price, private villas no marble or granite but comfortable, nice environment for families, the kids had lots of fun, same types of activities that we received at the RIU. Very nice staff . Wish for free internet, $(Sad). Wish for more hot water in the showers. But still fun.

    “Great Vacation!!!!!”

Loved It!!!!!!!!! My request for an upgrade was handle immediately , I felt the cottage was too small for myself , a 7yr and 8 yr old. Food and drinks were excellent. Kids club gave the kids nice break out of the sun. Staff works really hard to make sure your stay is an enjoyable one. Will definitely return....

    “not impressed”

The section of the hotel I was staying was under construction. I was not informed about that by expedia or the hotel when I called to confirm. Anyway upon arrival I became aware of the fact. Hotel staff did not even expressed any apologies for the situation or even mention the that construction was going on. I suppose they thought We wouldn't notice the bagging going on above and around us. I also did not have any privacy blinds set up in my room, just some weid drape thing that anyone can see through once it hits dawn. Guest who walked by was telling me that they could see inside my room. Told 4 people at front desk including a supervisor and nobody came to remedy the situation. I had to put sheets and towels at the window at nights to get some privacy. I will never go back to this hotel again!!!!!!!!!!!!

    “Exceeded All Expectations”

Okay so driving up to the resort was a bit of a surprise. The exterior and lobby are less than impressive. I expected something along the level of a higher end resort, but please do NOT let this deter you. The resort in its entirety is lovely! The one and only drawback is that you never know what you're going to get a check in. I was traveling with my sister. We asked for a double and got a king bed. We were told that there were no other vacancies so we had to share a bed the whole time. We made the best of it and kept the party rolling. The staff is amazingly gracious and welcoming - from housekeeping to security to the bar staff. Being single women, we felt safe at all times. The nightly entertainment offered something for everyone and the Fun Crew were exactly that. The beach was clean and lounge chairs were plentiful. The dining room was always clean, staff attentive and the food was always well prepared and presented. Even the pickiest eater will find something to enjoy. Be prepared for George and his signature drinks. I only needed two and I'm no lightweight! Lots of guests were repeat visitors and guess what....I will be too.

    Area recommendations
Don't be afraid to venture downtown. Yes, people will try to sell you things, but simply say no thank you and keep walking. Tourism is the primary source of income for most people there. Be firm but kind and tolerant.
    Shopping
Straw market is fun. Don't be deterred by the folks trying to get you to see their wares. Just say no when you mean no and keep walking. It's all good.

“Good value, a great place for some peace and quiet.”

Most of the time I don't know what to think of the reviews. But it is helpful though. We stayed at the Royal Decameron in Ocho Rios for 5 days. The price value was good. Our room was OK. You don't stay in the room too much anyways. The lifeguards, bartenders and waiters were very amiable. In the reviews they said, people would harass you. But we didn't experience this. Once you say No thank you, they will leave you alone. The food was OK. We liked the lunch better than the dinners. I believe that the hotel was fairly full, but until the meals, you hardly hear or see many people. The hotel was very quiet. The only downside was the noise at night. I don't know if it came from the entertainment of the hotel or the houses next to the hotel. They played music very loud until 2 or 3 in the morning. If we go back to Jamaica, we will go to the same hotel but in Montego Bay. For transportation, travel with the Knutsford Express they are much cheaper than taxis. And I would recommend to take licensed taxis.

    “Good time in Jamaica”

Upon arrival My parents and I were taken to our rooms. My room was fine nice and cool air workin fine, I went to see how my parents were doin and noticed that their room wasn't to cool. My father has difficulity breathing at times and this ws just to much for him. My mother and I went to the front desk and asked if my father could be moved closer to the dinner options, they said they would have to wait til 1:00 pm the next day. They sent a bellboy to move their luggage and were just 60 seconds from all the activities, food and entertainment. The hut was much cooler and much closer which made it much eaisier on my father and I know he enjoyed himself alot more. I am looking forward to returning and I would say here again.

    Dining
Make the reserveration it is well worth it. Both resterants are good.
