“This is my favorite place to stay in Ochi!”

We were so happy and comfortable with this little resort. A lot of people live here and are quite friendly. The staff was awesome and friendly. If you need a ride or tour around the Island please ask about Watson's Tours. He's a great guy! The condo was so comfortable and the bed and unit was clean and everything worked. We'd stay there again and again! The beach is right around the corner and the tranportation center is down the street so you can go all over the island like a local! Fantastic!

Area recommendations
Definately go to St Anns Bay to look around a gem of a town. Priory beach is really good as well on Sunday nights. It's a can't miss. Marguretaville is hopping great on Saturday nights. The tunes are great and the music was fantastic. It's a mixture of locals and tourists so it's an interesting night. Don't come too early cause you're gonna be the only ones there. Make sure u roll in around 11:30pm. Club Amnesia on Sunday nights is the local hot spot. You'll love the fun.

“Stay far from this place”

Resevered this place in July 2011 for a 4 day stay, worst mistake ever. This place has none of the amenities listed on its site. The owner of this facility says that only the bedroom is considered a room and therefore the rest of the one bedroom apartment does not require AC. She is very rude and lacking customer service training. It not a safe place to stay as security is lacking and the facility can be accessed by the locals. The furniture is antiquated and dirty. The bed shown in the photo is not what’s in the room. The "cable" TV has bad reception and only three channels. The bed and TV are about 30 years old and the remote is without a back. There is only one working phone in the entire facility, the one at the reception desk. I was told service was disconnected in March. They list that they have wake-up calls. I wonder how they do it if there are no phones in which to make the call. I suppose they come knocking on your door and keep knocking until you wake-up. I could not even stay the night there. Checked out after 20 minutes and went to another hotel. I have traveled the world and on been to on hotel worse than this one. This so-called hotel is not ready to accommodate guests. This place should just be used for locals passing through on a long journey and need a place to sleep for the night. It does not even qualify as a quality motel. The best part of my experience at this place was the receptionist. She was extremely helpful and polite.

“Nice people, good price, great view!”

We got an apartment, not a hotel room! It had a living room, a separate kitchen, and a view to the ocean, which is pretty awesome. So get apt 35 if you can! Anyway, everything was perfect on this vacation. I would recommend this hotel. (Small downside you shold not worry about: there seemed to be a lot of ants around the city everywhere - they were not fire-ants, just harmless ones.)

Close to downtown. Just walk around and have fun in Ocho Rios!

“Sub-standard”

The bedroom had mold, and smelled, the kitchen wall was pours which seem to be as a result of water damage. When I complained, nothing was done to move me to better accommodation. The window in the living room is right next to a bar/night spot, the first night was not too bad, the second night the noise made sleeping impossible. Utensils left for guest to use were in shambles. The plates were plastic, cracked, the stove was very old and dingy, the blankets on the sofa beds were tattered and washed out. The cleaning lady came and cleaned, but left the dust from the room on the landing in front of the room, it would have been better if she had not swept. The outdoor, lawns, walk ways and the pool were well kept and clean. The property had security day and night. Guests should be given a choise to room near the bar.

Area recommendations
The neighborhood was descent. The property itself (grounds) was beautiful. Rooms on the Beach is a much nicer property. I think the all inclusive place was nicer.
Getting around
Getting around was easy, we could walk to the center of town in less than 5 minutes. For trips further away, I used a local driver Dexton who took me around even into Kingston for a very reason rate. Him I can recommend without hesitation.

“Still Good”

I've been visiting Fisherman's Point yearly for the past 10 years. Recent negative reviews and talk of a change of management had me nervous prior to my February visit. I am relieved to say that everything was fine and that I did notice an increase in security around the property this visit. It seemed at the time I visited that the new management is making an effort to address recent issues. For example, the roof terrace above our units was locked off. We were told we could have it opened for a time to enjoy, but didn't bother. Things were somewhat quiet at Fisherman's. We had drinks at the restaurant(can't recall the name just now) and the atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. The pool area was nice and clean. The two 1 bedroom units we had were both all around clean and nice. We didn't spend much time around the front desk, but were happy with the efficient interactions we had with staff there and elsewhere on the property. No complaints at all. I will definitely return to Fisherman's in the future.

“We had a great time! Good hotel for the price :)”

This is a cozy place. We liked having a kitchen and a balcony (my husband and I stayed on the 3rd floor- and every unit has a kitchen- equipped with a few plates and cups, pans, and silverware) The grounds were well-kept. We rented the use of the safe in the room (couple dollars per day) and never had any trouble, nothing was stolen. It was peaceful at night. The beach is fantastic! Beautiful sand and clear water. Well-guarded and no hasslers. Just a short walk from the hotel. The condition of the hotel is good (by Jamaica standard... different from what I'm used to in the US... however, that is why I like to travel.) It has high ceilings, tile floors... not perfect condition~ but has an island/ocean feel. Perfect for us. The swimming pool was nice and clean. The girls at the front desk were great! They arranged a ride back to the airport for us for a good price. There is a small snack shop on-site... we bought a few things to eat during the flight home. The restaurant on-site looked fun and clean... but we didn't get a chance to try it... (too busy eating jerk chicken) We loved Jamaica

Area recommendations
Ocho Rios is rough at times.... the local people hassled us almost constantly when we walked to get food. (can I braid your hair?, can I drive you somewhere?, can I make you a bracelet? Buy my music CD's!, buy a necklace!,) It gets tiring saying "no thank you" over and over... BUT we never got hassled on the beach or on the hotel grounds. Learn how to haggle... we got braids, bracelets, and tours for any price WE picked... A few bucks go a LOOOONG way in Jamaica... we ended up having a GREAT time!

“Clean and convenient , but . . .”

. . . there were absolutely no electrical outlets anywhere to plug in a blowdryer or flat iron. We even had extension cords, but we couldn't get close enough to a mirror to see what we were doing! UGH. The bathroom was well lit -- but the shower was NOT big enough for a small child. You could barely turn around in it, and my roommate is tall, and she had to scooch down to have the water fall on her head. I genuinely liked the space . . . and it was good for a place to hang for a couple of nights . . . but the couch was ancient, stinky and stained. When we arrived, we had to wait while the guy split the king bed into two single beds and then make them up. My biggest complaint would be that our balcony overlooked Oceans 11 -- which never quieted down before 2:00 a.m. That's okay if you're partying (and we were one night), but the other night we tried to sleep at 11:30, but that wasn't happening. The beach was a long, long walk down the marina . . . not convenient at all -- and the Mini-Mart was a JOKE!!!! I think it had a dozen items in it and there were 5 employees in there . . . um, okay?!? I wouldn't stay here again -- just not my favorite place or location in Ochi, but I'd say it was a 3 . . . and for what we paid for it, it was okay.

“No Frills, definitely for the frugal traveler, not at all a "canned vacation" Safe,Clean”

You get what you pay for. This hotel is clean and safe, the hotel staff are out of site unless you need them. It is a quaint little place that costs very little and is close to everything. No one hassels you and they do look into any problems you have. It is not the Ritz, more suited for someone who just needs a place to sleep after they check out all that Ocho Rios has to offer! I would definitely stay again.

“Helter Swelter”

This is not my first time visiting the beautiful country of Jamaica nor the town of Ocho Rios, however it was my first time lodging at this hotel. First of all when i arrived at approximately 5:::30 p.m, I was informed by the staff that my assiged room was occupied and that they were attempting to prepare another room for that particular night. Due to the fact that the maintenance staff had already left for the day, I would not be able to shower, because there were not bath towels available, in addition the air conditioner in the bedroom was not working. The room was sweltering hot and the ceiling fan that did work was very noisy so trying to sleep in the heat and noise was a huge task.Early the next morning as soon as the staff arrived I immediately requested another room to which they complied.I was moved to another room which did have appliances that worked better, I learned that the only airconditioning in the hotel where in the bedrooms and anyone familiar with the heat in Jamaica will sympathize with this problem. On top of this the bath towels were finally delivered to my new room around 3 p.m after the laundry person finally came to work. The rooms were clean,,but the overwhelming heat was a bit too much to handle for me.All of the rooms at this hotel are fashioned this way I was told by the staff. If u like saunas with no towels then this is the hotel for you.

Area recommendations
The entire town is an attraction, but some of the highlights are night spots such as blitz, oceans eleven, and of course margaritaville. On the dining side you should check out" mom's " in the heart of the town for some excellent Jamaican cuisine.
Dining

“Much to be desired”

Good: The workers were very friendly except for the lady who was asked to clean up on the last day. She was not very nice were were to book out at 12:00 but because we had to wait almost 2 hours and it meant we got the room after 5:00 instead of 3:00 (we were there before 3). The supervisor told us that she would give us some more time. Apparently this was not conveyed to the claening lady and even thogh I tried to explain she was just extremely miserable. The pool is nice and the surrondings are comfortable. The rooms need to be refurbished. Doors to the closet was mising in the master bedroom and the shower cap was missing in our bathroom. The cleaning staff came and gave us fresh towels and rags each day but they did not fix the drapes that was falling down in our room. The bathroom door (our's ) had peeling wood which was just painted instead of fixed. The kitchen was not fully equipped and the oven did not work. we had access to the beach however, there was nothing inplace for disabled persons and there were no beach chairs , (you had to rent them) while the other resorts had beach chairs. Overall I would give them a 4.5 on a 10 point scale . We enjoyed ourselves because we made the best of everything but there is room for major improvement. I would not go back unless something is done to improve the package.
