The rooms we were in were completely renovated. Fixtures were new. Showers and sinks had instant, good hot water. We stayed for a week and did not have any problem with the room or maid service. A microwave and fridge were in the room. The internet was a little slow, but I am not sure if it was just my computer or the WI-fi.
Breakfast was poorly arranged, everyone was on top of each other trying to use the waffle irons. It was crowded the first day and we were a little late so all of the donuts and rolls were gone. They did have toast.
After traveling 780 miles from New Mexico, we were very pleased with the accomodations and the easy interstate access. Never having booked through Trivago before, we did not know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised with both Trivago and Expedia. We'll do it again!
Very well located and well priced hotel by the i-5, beaches, restaurants, entertainment and others.
Room is comfy, sheets clean and neat, good pillows, and no noise .
Next to a gas station, there is all amenities nearby.
Good shower, and they give you everything, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer .
I did not get on time for the breakfast, when I got there they were taking it out, but I could see it was pretty decent .
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Called to let them know we would be checking in rather late (after midnight) and it was no problem at all! We were greeted (mind you, at 1am) by a smiling staff member. Our stay was wonderful.
I stayed at the Rodeway for five days (Nov 21st -26th 2014) I was a bit nervous as the ratings were questionable but I was by myself and didn't want to spend a huge amout of money. For what I spent the room was perfect. I did not expect 500 dollar a night amenities when I was paying a fraction of that. For the amount I paid the hotel exceeded my expectations. I was close to the main office so I didn't hear any noise from the cars as others had complained about. The curtains were a bit dusty and my microwave was noisey but other than that, after much searching for these terrible things I had read on others reviews, I was super happy. The room smelled clean, it was close to Camp Pendleton where I work and the staff was very, very friendly. They offer a small continentinal breakfast of instant oatmeal, fruit, cereal and various drinks including coffee and tea for free which was nice and again if I had wanted steak and eggs with room service, I would have expected to pay for it. I feel from my experience, this hotel was well worth the price, the staff was very professional and nice and the location was convienant. I was 100% happy and would stay there again and probably will when the situation presents itself again.
I booked this after a business trip to Carlsbad and I couldn't have made a better choice. The travelers suite is enough for if you are not traveling solo and may be even suitable for two. I really like the kitchenette and the sea inspire bedroom decorations. It felt home like and relaxing...I plan to comeback with friend during summer and book a bigger suite; this is the ideal stay if you enjoy the ocean a few steps away.

The hotel was very nice. It was clean and well staffed. The parking was good too. We stayed on a lower level room right as you come in from the pool, which was very nice, particularly in the evenings. The free breakfast was good too...as expected. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. It is within walking distance of the Oceanside Pier, downtown restaurants, and the beach. It was a very nice stay.
