“Sufficient...”

The room was clean; service was friendly and available. Not a luxury hotel, but fine for what we needed.

“Great Deal, Perfect Location, Small Price!”

I recently went on a road trip across the entire state of California. This was by far the best hotel I stayed in throughout the entire trip. We were on a budget for all of our hotels and this was one of the cheapest places in Berkeley. It's right on University which makes it easy to get to UC Berkeley. It's close to the BART and bus stations, restaurants and a grocery store are all in walking distance. The hotel was recently remodeled and it all looked and worked great! Nice size refrigerator and microwave...and a new flat screen TV! What more could the budgeted traveler ask for?

“Would stay again!”

I was extremely satisfied with the Rodeway Inn. I lived in Oakland for 3 years and was going back to visit some friends. The room was small, but clean and updated with granite counters, floors and shower. It had a microwave and mini-fridge. I appreciated the continental breakfast. It was probably the best motel breakfast I've ever had: french toast and waffles, bread, english muffins, pastries, cereal, fruit, etc. as well as coffee, juice, milk, and cans of V8 or Kearn's Nectar. Very good considering there isn't a chef working there. I'd have to say that my only complaint was the heater....it had one of those "motel-under-the-window" units but the "auto" button didn't work. So we had to have it either on or off. This wasn't that big of a deal except for one night when it was especially cold we got back to the motel late and turned it on before bed. We woke up sweating! I don't think this is a big issue because in the bay area you only need a heater or air conditioner about 10% of the time! There is a little bit of noise, you can hear cars slam their doors in the parking lot but that will be the problem anytime you stay in a motel in a city. I think it was much quieter than my old Oakland apartment where I stayed on the third floor. I think this is a great motel for the money. I will stay here next time I visit.

“Great stay”

Very nice, very friendly, very homely. The room may be a tad small for large people or those with large suitcases, as in my case there were two large ones. The free Wi-Fi was very fast. The room's equipped with microwave and fridge. I don't think there was an ironing table. Not sure. The parking space is ample. The breakfast's fair, if you don't expect those "lavishing" breakfast. It's good enough to get you started and going for the day. About 100 yards or so from hotel entrance there's a 7-Eleven and a gas station. Across the road is a Mexican restaurant. Right in front of the hotel entrance is a Thai restaurant that makes good food -- and I'm a Thai so I certainly know what a good Thai food is like. A short walk across the street is a nice supermarket. I don't remember the name though. Everthing seems so convenient. In my opinion, this hotel is a place for those who respect other peoples' peace and privacy, as loud noises can easily disturb others. Overall the hotel is a great stay, the manager is very friendly, and I would certainly recommend this place.

“Cean and comfotable...excellent continental breakfast!”

A great place to rest after a long day visiting nearby colleges. Berkley is next door, USF is down the lane and UC Davis is an hour away. It was perfect.

“Rennovated bargain”

Hotel was rennovated in 2007. Quality shows everywhere. Breakfast was more than adequate, though breakfast space was a bit tight. Good location on University Avenue. Used public bus to UC Campus.

“Quality 2-star hotel”

This is a great motel if you need it just for quiet & comfortable sleep and you have a car available: there's enough parking space within the inner yard, rooms are clean and well maintained, and continental breakfast is included. The area seems rather safe although you may not wish to walk too much around in the evening; there are however, some restaurants just round the corner.

“Quiet, Clean, and Comfortable”

The rooms were very clean, quiet and the beds comfortable. Just what I needed after a long drive to Berkeley from Los Angeles.
