“Very old hotel - not clean”
We stayed here 2 nights. First of all, we knew this hotel was old by the pictures online but the pictures of the rooms and outdoors looked very nice so we gave it a try. Well we were not pleased at all with the room. But I will have to say the outside trail along the water was beautiful. The room was dirty, huge brown water stain on the ceiling, a few webs on the walls/ceilings, fingernail polish smeared on the fridge and stuff on walls. Towels had make-up and black stains on them. And the bed is horrible very thin spring mattress, did not sleep well. We immediately called front desk and they brought brand new towels. They said they were booked and could not change rooms till the next day. So we changed rooms the next day with no problem. Staff was friendly and helpful but the first night was terrible. The next room was cleaner but not clean enough and the bed was the same, horrible. The free breakfast was very simple, bagels, cereal, juice & coffee. Overall experience was not satisfactory. Although they did try and do what they could to correct things even give us a small % off the 1st night's stay we will not be staying here again.
“Perfect place to stay”
Management was very accomodating and, when I arrived, changed my room from upstairs to downstairs upon my request. Room wasn't large but perfectly adequate, and the bed was really comfy. The hotel is located on the water so the boats and beautiful sunsets were a real plus. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
“bring some spider spray”
To be honest for the money it is not worth it. Parking is free for now, it close to the water but other than that the rooms are bad, fat guy who always wears black is the manager he can often times be found on the couch nodding off, he needs to be re sent through management 101. The girl with the glasses is the only reason I bother going back she is nice and attentive.
“FYLSE Weekend”
Great view of the Marina
“Will go back”
This is a clean little place in a good location. The hotel is a little dated in a good way. The rates are very reasonable and I will most certainly be back. The view rooms provide a nice view of the harbor and there are no bad parking spots. Perfect for a work stop over.
“Beautiful and relaxing, right on the marina. Loved it!”
Great place to unwind. Loved being 20 feet from the water and watching the boats. Nice breakfast and helpful staff. The best value for the money.
“amazing location, needs new towels and mattresses”
Great quiet location at the marina. This is exactly the type of hotel I typically look for- a little older but with a nice retro feel. Grounds a nice and you are right on the water and hear seagulls and smell the salt air. One big problem, the towels are the most worn gray towels I have ever seen in a hotel (and I travel in India and China often) and the mattress and pillows had a musty smell and lumpy feel. I guess the mattress and pillows are 25+ years old- YUCK. It felt gross to sleep on and I am not typically picky, but I just kept thinking of what is probably living in these mattresses. If they just made these upgrades it would be 3+, but for now buyer beware.
“One of Alameda's better hotels”
Not to friendly at the check in, not even a little bit, they pointed where abouts my room was, over by the pool, well being my first time there, I had no idea where the pool was, which building they may of been directing me to. Parking is impossible there at least if you wish to be close to your room. Otherwise it was quiet and relaxing
“A nice little place”
This hotel really surprised me. It does not look like much from the outside, however the location is great. You are right on the water, you are 5 minutes from Jack London Square and about 15 to 20 minutes from downtown San Francisco. The neighborhood was very good and I never felt uncomfortable. The rooms were larger than expected and very comfortable and clean. All and all, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
“Slight Hiccup but overall good”
The Marina Village Inn was really comfortable, fairly clean, had great views. We got a king sea view suite which had amazing views of the Alameda marina and a balcony. I rated 3 stars because when we went to the pool to swim for a few hours, we locked the room, took our keys and walked the 100 or so paces to the pool but upon returning less than 2 hours later found our room door wide open. None of our things had been touched or taken but it just felt eerie. We called the concierge desk about it but they couldn't find any explanation. Overall it was a good stay though.
