“Loved it!!”

Everything was great- Very clean and comfy. Nice decor. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good- lots of choices- delicious and replenished often; one morning they were out of sausage but 2 minutes later the pan was full again hot off the stove. Not crazy about the coffee, though. If you're looking for a great view, this may not be the place for you, but that wasn't an issue for us- we weren't there to be spending time looking out the window! Big thumbs up from me!! :)

Area recommendations
My older daughter and I didn't spend much time in Alameda- we stayed here because it was close to my younger daughter- girls' weekend! Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge had a great vibe, as well as Lucky 13. The Science Academy in Golden Gate Park was lots of fun. Napa Valley- the cities of Napa, St. Helena, and the Peju Winery were fun and memorable.
What to pack
Take a light jacket to wear with your flip-flops - it's a bit chilly even the last week of July.
Nightlife
Definitely check out Forbidden Island- we were there on a really fun "theme night". It seemed like a nice neighborhood hangout rather than a 'pickup' bar. Lucky 13 was fun- a little loud at my age, but interesting. NorCal in general has a really good, mellow vibe.

“Basic but more than adequate”

Extremely clean and friendly budget hotel in central Alameda. Not luxurious-no plush robes or towels, formica bathrooms--but very comfortable beds, free WiFi, accommodating staff, and decent breakfast. Will stay again.

“NIce place”

Was in Oakland to visit a relative and needed a place to stay.. this hotel was very nice, clean and there are many restaurants within walking distance. Will stay again if ever in the area again

“Very Happy with my stay!”

We reserved 4 rooms and we all were happy with our rooms. They were clean, the staff was friendly and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. The location was not so bad, there were a few fast food chains @ walking distance and a Starbucks as well. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay.

“Ask for interior room”

This is our second stay and we really like the hotel. Very clean, comfortable and friendly staff at reception. She gave us a good recommendation for restaurants. The only downside was that our room faced a very busy street (Webster St.). We heard sirens, and way too much traffic. I would stay again only if I could book an interior room that faces the parking lot. They do make an attempt to block the noise wtih 2 sets of double pane windows, but we could still hear traffic.

Area recommendations
The Gold Coast in Alameda is fabulous with exquisite Victorian homes and beautiful gardens. Touring this neighborhood is a must while you are there.

“Decent Place to Stay in Alameda”

My only issue with my stay is that there were children in the room above me who liked to run and make noise all the time. A suggestion would be to put families with small children on the first floor so they cannot disturb the other guests.
