“Perfect Location if youre visiting the Coliseum”
The room was a little dirty. The bathroom was moldy, dirt on the walls and door, and generally a little off putting. The facilities are a little old and the doors are poorly painted and metal. For the price, I was not unhappy. The service is prompt and staff is well mannered. We never did get up to eat the continental breakfast, which is adjacent to the front desk in the attached Chinese restaurant, Charlie Chan's Cafe. It is within walking distance to several fast food restaurants and gas stations. Additionally a grocery store. We picked it because it claimed it was within walking distance to the Oakland Alemeda Coliseum. That was no lie and we were extremely happy to not have been deceived. Another couple of down sides, of 3 ice makers listed on signs, only 2 actually existed, and one of those was out of service. Then later, all of them were out of service. Also on the second morning, the elevator too was out of service. Good thing we were on the 3rd floor and had already resolved to use the stairs! Careful of the homeless folk hanging around near by. The hotel is fenced in and seems rather secure.
“Oakland Raider Tailgaters”
Not going to book there again...at least when the Raiders are playing at home. Lots of partying in rooms and hallways, people smoking pot...not really a place you want to take your children!
“Great hotel for the price!!!”
My flight was cancelled so I had to stay overnight. Pros This hotel was close to the airport and has a free convenient subtle system to and from the airport. The stay were all super nice and available when I needed them. The bed was big in pretty comfy, lots of fluffy pillows! The shower was nice. They had a coffee maker in the room. The tv had enough channels to keep me entertained and there is free wifi. Tons of close places to eat and a supermarket in less than 5 minute walking distance. Close to bus system or skip the bus walk 10 minutes to the coliseum Bart stop! Cons The room is not soundproof! You can hear a lot of the going ons in the hallways. Not for light sleepers! The shampoo and soap make your hair and skin sticky bring your own if you can. The free breakfast doesn't start until 6:30am so if you have an early flight no food for you! So overall this 2 star hotel is just that, a 2 star hotel! Good for a cheap 1-2 night stay! I'd stay there again if I was ever stuck at the Oakland airport.
“Good option”
I booked this hotel for my boyfriend to stay near the airport for a business trip. It was very convenient with a shuttle to and from the airport. The morning shuttle starts at 4 am which was great as he had a 6:30 am flight out. Most of the other hotels start at 6 am. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. This is a basic hotel with not many extras but a great value overall. They hd a complementary breakfast and a great Asian restaurant he said he enjoyed. Overall very leased.
“Oakland Airport stay”
The interior of the main building has an odor reminescent of old, wet buildings but the rooms are comfortable, odor free, clean, with all conveniences. My only room complaint was a tea bag left in the coffee pot, noted after I made the morming pot. Staff was very attentive.
“Very Good value for money”
I booked this hotel due to its close proximity to the Oakland Collisium as i was there to watch Baseball. The area is not the best, but there are several eateries and a supermarket very close by. The staff were very helpful and my room was slightly dated, but very clean, spacious and the bed was far better then many i have slept in at higher rated hotels. The complimentary breakfast is basic to say the least, but the small swimming pool was excellant after sat in the baking sun watching Baseball. Overall i was pleased with my choice and only 20 mins from downtown San Francisco on the BART and yes i would stay here again
“Okay hotel, shame about the location”
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in august as it was a much cheaper option than staying in San Francisco, especially with a car and we were under the impression that Oakland was a convenient, good alternative. Arriving at the hotel was okay, just off the freeway and easy to find. The car park was relatively secure. The BART station to get into San Francisco was about a mile away, just over the freeway next to the stadiums, a very easy short walk but a bit unnerving with the strange people lurking around. We've been travelling in the US for 2 months now and this has been one of the most unsettling walks we've had to do. The staff were fairly cordial. Our room was on the 4th floor and non smoking although the corridor constantly smelt of smoke. The room was clean and comfortable and the cleaners cleaned the rooms thoroughly. The breakfast was basic but fine for free. The downside was on our 3rd and 4th nights, this was not the fault of the hotel but maybe it's location when at 2am for about 2hours motorbikes would drive up and down the road outside. Then there was the kids running up and down the corridors at 3am too. So not a great nights sleep. Overall the hotel was good for the price, especially with free parking and breakfast, and clean. Shame about the dodgy location, proof on the day we left when there was a murder just around the corner, the 78th in Oakland this year.
“Ok but not great”
This hotel is located near Oakland airport Not far from BART station which is good to get you to doe toen SFO or SFO Airport Rooms are OK Plus is Free internet Free Breakfast
“Very close to A's stadium. Low price but unsafe.”
Very close to A's stadium. But, lots of homeless guys are walking around parking lot.
“Cheap!!!”
Pros: If you are looking to stay on the cheap, this is the place. The breakfast is good, not many options, but good. Waffles, toast, cereal, pastries, coffee, juice, and milk. Just enough to not pay for breakfast. Iron and board in room. The room is clean. Did I mention the price of the room was cheap. Cons: Just remember you get what you pay for. The beds were tiny and hard. The saturday night motorcyclist were very noisy. You can't sleep. I read about this on another review, but decided to book the hotel anyway. No noise on Sunday night, so this is definitely a saturday night issue, maybe friday night as well. The hotel staff were not the friendliest, but that was ok. No conditioner for women. When we asked for more shampoo the staff took 2 hours to bring it to our room. The TV is old with about 10 channels. Lastly the neighborhood surrounding the area is very suspect. I went over to the AM/PM after dark for some water, and was surrounded with pan handlers. We spent most of our weekend stay in SF so we used the hotel just to sleep and eat breakfast.
