“Great Location”
Close to shopping and the estuary beachfront walkway. Great for walking. Room was very spacious.
“Alameda Review”
The negative aspects of my stay were: 1)I was placed on top of the parking lot and they were doing a high powerwash over the driveway I couldn't sleep 2")Half the parking lot was taped off for construction 3)When I left the parking lot I had a flat tire and had to get my tire fixed because I ran over a nail in their parking lot 4)The manager moved me to a quieter room but told me I would have to pay a change fee in order to be moved I was like whatever! The positive aspects 1)Great Televsion 2)Good scenery 3) nice room 4) great access to the Alameda Bay/Beach and shopping
“Reasonably satisfied”
My room was reasonably comfortable, 2 double beds + Kitchenette + 2-person table/chairs, and kept clean. Nothing special (a comfortable chair would have been nice), but for my 2 day stay it was fine. Because of the kitchenette it would have been good for a family or for saving money on a longer stay. The location couldn't be beat: 10 minute drive from Oakland Airport, in a nice neighborhood less than a block from the San Francisco Bay, with shopping and restaurants within a block. And it was close to where I needed to go (I had a wedding and a cousin's party to attend that weekend). There were some minor quibbles: there was no iron in the room (though there was an ironing board) and the GFI on the outlet got triggered by my travel iron. And when I checked in at midnight another person's room had not been made up (they had checked in right before me). And they don't actually have a fitness room ... but they *did* have free passes to a local gym 3 blocks away, which was even better.
“Great for the Money”
I was very impressed with this hotel. We were visiting San Francisco for a few days and found the hotel to be in a fairly convenient location without being IN the city. The price was right and I was very impressed with what we got for the money we paid. The room was very large and included a kitchenette and large balcony. The beds were very comfortable, and they provided several different styles of pillows on each bed. When we walked into the room you could smell that bleach had been used, but the smell was not overpowering and made me feel confident that the bathroom had been properly cleaned. The surrounding neighborhood was nice and the hotel is located across the street from a plaza with several stores and restaurants as well as about 1/2 mile walk to many more restaurants and shops. Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel and would stay there again if visiting the Bay area.
“justus2”
Inexpensive, but well located for airport/car rental return. Less than 5 miles. Safeway gas station closeby. Walk to bayshore beach or to large mall. Alameda nice town. Room had small kitchenette and two queen beds. Large room with plenty of closets (3) Quiet area although trafic starts up about 6. Minimal breakfast, basically cereal. Should add hard boiled eggs. Will return.
“Great deal in a great area”
I stayed here for four nights and thought it was great. It's a little run down, but I didn't feel that the room was dirty or anything like that. It's conveniently located to shops, restaurants, a path along the water, etc. I will stay here again. It's a great deal!
“October 2011”
this is a bit of an older hotel, but run very nicely and clean. The kids enjoyed the breakfast (fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, donuts, OJ) The rooms are huge. ours was a 2 queen with a small kitchenette and a table/chairs. There is a safeway across the street if you want to get adventurous with the kitchen. We did a frozen pizza one night. If frozen pizza's aren't your thing, downtown Alameda is just up the street. There are dozens of restaurants there and a very active nightlife. It's close to the expressway and the ferry to san-fran.
“Wonderful location”
We would stay here again but would request a room in the back, NOT facing Park Ave. (too much street noise). We LOVED having the kitchenette. The mattress was too hard and sagged in the middle. (Fortunately we had 2 beds and used them both since less weight meant less sagging) The people were friendly and very helpful. We loved the location and next time will request to have a view of the lake or the pool.) We also enjoyed the walking path next to the bay!
“nice modest hotel”
Works very well for me when I go to visit my granddaughter, close to Oakland airport, safe neighborhood, breakfast modest but convenient. The pool is great.
“This is perfect if you are going to a game nice and safe”
This was perfect it was in a safe area, with a shopping mall across the street, it is not a 5 star hotel but they sure treat you like it is. Beds are a little small but compare the price and the thought of a great quiet get away. We are going back. Went to a Raider game the hotels close to the location was 5 stars but in a 1 star area. So we will stay at Coral reef anyday and enjoy the beach. The great plus is all rooms are kitchenetts so we did a little grocery shopping across the street and did not have to spend a fortune on food. We are planning 3 more visits. So peaceful
