“Not a luxury hotel,”
When we checked in we were not told where the parking garage was. We followed a valet parking guy to find it. It would have been nearly impossibe to find We got incorrect info from a concierge on car route The wall switch by entry door turned on fan and overhead light. The light/fan had two chains to turn either one on or off, but chains were too high to reach. When I asked to bellman how to turn off either of them he told me to jump, which he did to. Later in our stay maintenance fixed the chains, but not really. They made one chain longer by taking off part of the other one. Then we could reach one chain, but we would have had to stand on the bed and jump to get to the other one. The room had a lot of dust on several surfaces. The TV had very few digital stations, and there was no guide to see what was on and when. The only way to do it was to go station by station, and it was very slow in reacting to the remote. So we called down to ask how to get a guide, and the person who answered said to try a certain channel, which didn't have the guide, then she said to try another channel, and it didn't have the guide either. So she said she would have housekeeping bring up a TV guide. Well, they brought up another remote. When I told them what we really wanted, he told us they have guide or any way of seeing what was on. There were other disappointments. This hotel is billed as part of The Luxury Collection, and it's priced that way. Luxury this was not.
“Can't wait to go back..... would love to live there!!!”
Great spot and would love to live there if I could. Enjoyed relaxing as its close to beach, shops and restaurants. The staff very helpful and cheerful.
“A Rare Treasure”
This is our second year going back to the Royal Hawaiian. It is a very special hotel that has stood the test of time. The decor, location and ambiance cannot be surpassed
“couldn't be better”
Everything was great! They gave us a bottle of champaign with The Royal Hawaiian labels for our honeymoon! wonderful treat for a honeymooners. wish could've stayed longer!!!
“Excellent, as always”
I have stayed at The Royal Hawaiian at least once a year in the last 14 years, and it continues to be my hotel of choice in Waikiki. Hotels and resorts are basically concrete and glass, the difference is the people that work at the hotel. The Royal Hawaiian has the best people.
“Very impressed and will definitely go back.”
Very impressed and will definitely go back. Convenient location, great pool facilities, easy access to beach and shopping center and restaurants.
“great hotel”
Great hotel and location. the pink color really sticks out but not in a bad way. Concierge service with Pamela was excellent. The only flaw was the shower pressure and quality of bathtub. but these r details.
“Luxurious”
Luxury at. Its finest. Definitely returning. Amazing!! Beautiful!!
“Welcome to Honolulu”
This is a luxury Hotel, with the usual luxury features. The staff are excellent. Here is what to watch out for, past the fact that this is a well run accommodation: (1) Check -In: Do not assume that the room booked will be the room booked: Upon check -in we were advised: (a) The booked room was not available until 'around 5 ' p.m. (the brochure no later than 3 p.m., and on the phone 'noon is (was) ok..." (b) Upon entering the room, although we had booked (two) twin beds, we found one King Bed. Colleen advised us (front desk/registrations): "There is nothing on your booking information stating twin beds." This statement proved inaccurate. We produced the booking confirmation: Expedia.ca which stated "...two twin beds..." When advising Colleen of this (she was very polite, but simply incorrect) we were sent a roll cot and told to check back late, and further "..the day manager will call you..." No one called and we finally settled for the 'room with a cot'. (c) Breakfast cost $105.00. For scrambled eggs and sausage with orange juice for 3 people. Later on, we went to Denny's and got the same thing for a lot less. Great Breakfast...but expensive at "The Pink Palace"; (d) There is no "private beach". You do get 4 rows of roped off lounge chairs well off of, but in front of the beach.
“Hawaiian Paradise”
Beautiful hotel, gorgeous grounds, right on the beach and walking distance to everything. Perfect, can't wait to go back!
