“Great Hotel & Great Views”
If you are looking for a great place to stay with an ocean view at an affordable price this is the Hotel for you. The "Ocean View" room gives you a view of Diamond Head and the Ocean (much better than the ocean front room). Also, ask for a room above the 8th floor as the restaurant can get noisy. The pool overlooks the beach and is a great place to read a book. Chairs are always available and towels are provided at the front desk. The beach is across the street and is a great place to swim, snorkel and lay out. Starbucks is on the main floor. The zoo is across the street and is a fun day activity. The aquarium is also an easy walk up the street. The bus line stops in front of the hotel and is easy to get around (no need to rent a car). Great activities to do while in Waikiki: Walk to Leonards Bakery for donuts a 30 minute walk from hotel. Take the "Sunset Segway Tour" at the Hilton. Awesome tour guides and riding a Segway is fun, fun, fun!!! Pearl Harbor tour is a must. Dinner at Chuck's (on the 2nd floor of Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach hotel). If it's raining take a bus to the Ward Center and see a movie. While there have lunch at Kua'Aina Sandwiches (the best burgers in Oahu - comparable to In-n-Out). Try stand up paddle boarding at the Hilton Lagoon. Fun and easy way to learn. Expedia is a great place to book your trip. Great discounts if you book air and hotel together. Hope this helps in your trip planning.
“not impressed”
Try to find any better hotel
“Cameraman2011”
I was ok for the price. Convenient to shopping and beach. One third the price of posh hotels a night. Ok if you are not spending your time in a room all day.
“not impressed”
the rooms very small and out dated carpet patched room smelled and stains on the curtains we stayed in two of there rooms both upgrades and both did not have king size beds which we had asked for three months ahead of our trip staff very nice but rooms need a remodel.
“Nice place to visit”
Hawaii was not was I expected it to be. I was hopping the area would be much nicer but to my surpise I found that"s not the case. The hotel is good, the maintenance people are very good with cleaning up the room. it's not a five start hotel but its a good price for what you get. you bassical pay for what you get. Its very closed to the beach, walking distance. well i should say its a cross the street. also you have a startbuck just outside the hotel. again if ur not planning on spending much time in the hotel its totally worth it to book here.
“Surfer Girl”
Ok, so the room was a bit older and in need of some renovation, but really, what do you really use your room for when you are in Hawaii, except enjoying some rays on the lanai and to sleep in when you aren't enjoying the island? The hotel manager, David, was great to us and so were the rest of the staff. The pool deck was cleaned every day and the pool. The onsite restaurant, LuLu's, was very good for breakfast with a view and a morning bloody mary. The view from our room was excellent with both Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach. I would greatly recommend the hotel to others based on the treatment we received from staff, location and ammenities.
“You get what you paid for!”
This hotel is right near the beach. The beds are clean but the rooms would look cleaner if they at least replaced the very dirty carpets. We could here the neighboring rooms occupents coughing all night long, But for the price it was ok for a couple of nights.
“Contradiction”
Strange hotel..lobby was well decorated, clean and staffed with helpful employees. The room was filled with old furniture, bright blue walls, nasty gold stained carpet. The furniture and vanity was chipped and old. The bed did not even have a bedspread..it had some strange half bedspread that made it look like it was a folded down bedspread. Where the ceiling met the wall was not even straight. Man in the elevator 1st day said the ceiliing in his bathroom fell and ruined everything he had in there, including cell phone. Strange the difference between the lobby and the horrendous room. There is a difference between old and unclean. The room was both old and felt very unclean..stains everywhere. I used to live in Waikiki, I know what basic accomodations are, and this is by far the worst I have seen in Waikiki. Again the staff were friendly and helpful as well as dressed in professional attire. The maids were friendly and hard working. It is all in the accomodations, that made this experience so poor.
“Looked better in the pictures”
The hotel was old, we missed our snorkling and they wouldnt reschedule or give us a refund
“Down in the dumps...”
while the Park Shore is a great location - right across from the beach and an easy walk to most of Waikiki, the rooms are terrible. It was like sleeping in the closet - very small rooms with no decore to speak off! There wasn't even one picture on the walls... very disappointed with the room!
