“Why go to Maui”

After many years of vacationing in Hawaii and always being asked about "maui" I have to say that I think koolina is the best of both worlds. The shopping and convenience of Oahu in a private quiet setting on a private beach, world class golf course, and great restaurants. This is my third time staying there, and I plan on returning as soon as possible. The suite of two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, laundry in suite, three televisions, great pools, and extremely well kept premises combined with awesome staff make this a vacation paradise.

Area recommendations
Waikiki is a "must" every first time visitor to Hawaii but Oahu has so much more to offer. Be sure to plan on visiting the other parts of the island> The north shore is a unique culture of its own, great surf. Koolina on the west side (leeward ) of the island offers a luxury resort lifestyle conducive to an all adult party (like ours) or family. Be sure to see Iolani palace and learn some of the history of the Hawaiian Islands.
Getting there
if you rent a car, it is easy to get around the island. If not, there are tour buses to every possible destination. I believe renting a car is a better deal and gives you far more flexibility. Getting to Koolina is easy, just head out of Honolulu (Waikiki) to Pearl City and then continue on to Koolina all on the same highway.
What to pack
Even after at least 12 trips to Hawaii we seem to always pack too much. Resort wear, casual is pretty much accepted everywhere and beach wear is reasonably priced. In suite laundry at koolina helps too. Make sure you bring along heavy duty sunscreen, beach footwear or reef walkers and pack light, bringing along extra luggage to haul home your hawaiian treasures!

“A GREAT PLACE FOR CHILDREN !!!!!”

While the resort is isolated from the real world, it has many amenties that you find in a luxery facility--fine and casual dining with shops and even a convenience store. The things that make it so family freindly are: Two miles of clean beaches with four (man made) lagoons. in addition, there are rhree separate pools for a varity of bathing activities (with no diving) plus a KOI pond for contemplative meditation.

Area recommendations
Is not a city. There are three (soon to be four) mega-resorts in the immediate vicinity.
