“Great sunsets every night!”
Our room was 1121 on the north end of the hotel. Some other travelers suggest this side and it was great for the sunsets. The only downside of this this side was that every night until about 830pm you could hear the luau next door. The flip side to that was every night you had the most amazing sunset. Overall the hotel staff was professional and friendly. We had a great bellmen and room service was quick to bring us glasses for wine that we had purchased at Costco nearby. The hotel is in a beautiful spot with 4 man made lagoons. The JW is on the first one and then the three others offer an opportunity to walk to. We snorkeled right off the property and saw sea cucumbers and a Honu (turtle) while we were in the water. The Hotel has a nice gym and fantastic spa. We enjoyed the amenities of the spa when we got our massages. Very nice to have a seperate spa pool and jacuzzi to get away from the kids at the main pool. Our room was sweet! the Bathroom was huge! a walk in shower, huge soaking tub and a double sinks. Not to mention the toilet had it's own room (you know why that's important!). One of the best features of the room was the huge closet and the floor to ceiling doors with screens. if you wanted to you could sleep with the doors open and listen to the ocean. Fantastic! We would totally go back the JW Marriott again. and if you are platinum or gold marriott rewards then you get a reduced rate for the daily parking as well as free wifi and %25 off the restaurant.
“If you are in search for out of city vacation spot in Oahu, this would be the place!”
If you are looking for a getaway (from city) private beach resort, this would be the best place with an ocean view room. great for morning walk, jogging, reading book on a private beach atmosphere. I had 3nights in Waikiki, 2night in Ko Olina. It would be nice to have 4nights in Honolulu, 3nights in Ko Olina...
“Hawaii's Best Resort”
My wife and I celebrated our five year anniversary with a week at the resort. The resort is absolutely beautiful and we received the best customer service. The Azul Restaurant (near the pool area) has the best food on the island. Our only rant is the location. We found ourselves driving for a few hours a day to explore the island, including Honolulu.
“Must stay place in Honolulu”
If you are looking for a first class, in an out of the hustle and bustle location, this is it. Far enough, but not too far out of Honolulu. The hotel could not be nicer, staff was courteous and helpful in every way. The food was great and the rooms were right up there with the nicest I have stayed in. Highly recommended.
“Excellent! One best View and infra arrangement in the World!”
I recommend this resort for Honey Moon Couple!
“JW Marriott Suite experience”
The hotel is very nicely decorated with plants. But I wasn't happy with their Cleaning services. We had one of their bigger suit and room service Wasn't doing a good job in cleaning the room also With Disney resort next door it was hard to find the peace you want in Hawaii. Many kids running on the lagone and screaming and soe days even the Disney resort building is done you could hear jackhammer going off. Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience as we used too couple of years ago.
“Would love to come back”
Great place to stay. Hotel is very nice. staff is really helpful. the only thing i didnt like about the hotel was there beds where a little stiff and pillows were flat. other then that it was a very nice place and i would stay there again
“We'll definitely return to the Ihilani”
My husband, 10-year-old daughter and I stayed at the Ihilani for 10 days in late September, early October. We selected this hotel because it was NOT near Waikiki/Honolulu, it was NOT Disney, and because it was NOT as remote as the Turtle Bay Hilton. We were extremely satisfied with our choice of hotels and would definitely return again. We loved the hotel architecture, the grounds, the room, the restaurants, the pool and the lagoons. We especially loved the friendly and helpful staff--especially in the restaurants and at the front desk. We did note a few areas requiring attention: housekeeping service was not reliable, pigeon poop (and even a dead pigeon carcass) was all too visible, and parking fees of almost $40 per day were steep. Thanks for a memorable stay!
“Very impressed”
The resort was absolutely breathtaking. The service was at the same level. The only thing that wasn't a 5 was the pillows were sorta lumpy. The view off the balcony was like a postcard. Also, it is pretty pricey. I didn't realize that the facility was so remote. It does take a while to get to the Wiakiki area if that is where you want to party. Also the Valet parking was $35 a night whether you self park or not so calculate that into your budget.
“Parking was $36/day”
The hotel is beautiful and the ocean bay is great for swimming. Prices at the hotel are high. The ABC store across the street is excellent and offers very reasonable breakfast lunch. Overall, very nice stay.
