“Money Well Spent”
My Husband and I spent our 10 day honeymoon at this hotel. The rooms were very nicely decorated, a good size and the staff were kind. Maid service didn't happen until late in the day and on a few occasion they seemed to forget about our room which was frustrating at times when you have no towels left. We had to be switched from our 18th floor room because something was wrong with the air-conditioning and the floor was wet. They moved us promptly but to a 4th floor room which got a lot more street noise. With our stay we got a buffet breakfast. It was the BEST breakfast a person could want. Lots of fresh fruit, a wide selection of items, and everything was fresh and tasty. The beach is right across the street, which is protected by the break water which allows for good swimming conditions. It is close to shops and has lots on its own main floor. It was a very modern feeling hotel in comparison with others. We got a great deal so we couldn't complain. They also are a pickup spot for most tours so you don't need to try and find another hotel to get picked up at. We had a great stay overall and would gladly use this hotel again.
“Great”
Great place to stay!!
“Hawaii Holiday”
Great Hotel with great location Highly Recomended the only thing that could improve my stay would be free wifi and local calls from my room. It would have been great, but I had to keep departing to find out more information about the hotel and local attractions via internet.
“Impressed”
This hotel is great for family and singles alike. its location is just a few blocks from the mall and downtown but right on the strip. Across the street is the beach with breathtaking views of Diamond Head. Valet and self valet parking just a few yards across the street in a parking gargage with easy distance of the hotel. Overall i would come back to this hotel for its location, amenities, and decor.
“Beautiful hotel in a great location”
You will love staying here. The hotel is well maintained and the location just can't be beat. Everyone I interacted with was top notch and knowledgeable. Simply love this place.
“Extremely disappointed”
We have stayed at the Hyatt 5 out of the last 7 years. This year we were extremely disappointed. We booked a 'mountain view' room, this is actually a city view room - not sure when city view was rebadged mountain view but it is not a view of Diamond Head that we were expecting. If we knew that it was a city view room we would not have booked it. Upon check-in we were put in a room right next door to a lift in a smaller than average room - no sleep all night due to the noise. We then moved rooms the next day, still city view but a couple of rooms from the lift - but next to the ice machine. From 5 stays in the last 7 years we have not had a single upgrade, we were offered an upgrade to an ocean view room but would have had to pay. The toilet overflowed twice - full thanks to the engineering/housekeeping team who had it fixed within 10 minutes both times. $10 for 24 hours of wireless internet? get with the times Hyatt. Extremely disappointed.
“Would stay in north of Island and travel for girls to shop”
Nice hotel - clean, small pool & spa - did not use
“The heart of Waikiki”
Staff were very friendly and helpful, water supplied while waiting for check in was greatly appreciated. The only concern was the 3 hour wait for check in when you have travelled a long way and are tired, hot and in need of a shower and bed. Also the beach towels need to be upgraded, were small and really worn.
“Great place if you like to shop till ya drop and enjoy the beach at the same time”
If you are looking for a place that has ALOT of shopping and some beach time, then this hotel is for you!
“Wonderful Honolulu hotel!”
This had to be one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. We stayed in the Diamond Head tower, paid for an Ocean View Room (mind you it was a "partial" view, but still it was incredible), and when we exited the hotel the Duke Kahuna statue was right there. You have to cross the street to get to the beach, but it wasn't a big deal. There are car rental agencies on site which was very convenient. But parking on site at the hotel does cost $. Only went to the pool once, but experienced incredible service from the waitress there, while my boyfriend watched football inside the pool bar. We dined at one of the restaurants, SHOR, for dinner one night, and it was very delicious. I have to admit I was nervous since I found out that a large convention (APEC) was going on while I was in the area, and the hotel was home base for some special guests apparently. The hotel seemed to accommodate any request, and made everything run smoothly for us common folk even though it was a hectic week. This hotel is walking distance to many surrounding attractions and restaurants. Thank you for a great week. I really would like to come back again!
