This resort is very very nice. Breathtaking views and beautiful furnishings. This is a top notch condo and we felt very welcome there. It would be nice to be "an owner" and truly see how the other half lives. We had 2 separate condos with 3 bedrooms each. Didn't even feel crowded with 6 total couples and a couple of kids.
We stayed for 12 nights during our wedding trip in Hawaii and had a really great stay at Waikiki Parc. The staff were all so accommodating, friendly and helpful. The staff managed to shuffle a few rooms around so that we could upgrade to an ocean view room which was well worth it. It was a beautiful start to each day, opening the shutters and stepping out onto the balcony, looking out on the stunning ocean blue. I really loved the way the simplicity of the room decorations and the shutters across all windows. Other guests stayed in the mountain view rooms and they were exactly the same as ours, but the view was more of car park and buildings than mountains. The amenities were more basic than a 5 star resort, but I thought that it was good value for money and would definitely stay here again.
Overall we had a great experience at the Equus. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice. Our two biggest complaints have more to do with the location of the hotel than anything the hotel can change now:
1) It is a rather hard hotel to find. It is very narrow and the valet parking location is not obvious like it would be at a bigger hotel.
2) There is a significant flight of stairs to get into the hotel and main lobby. There is no alternate entrance or elevator. For most people this is not a problem, but for my family (we had a 2 year old and stroller) it was a bit of a nuisance everytime we went in or out.
Other than that, it was really a nice hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at this excellent hotel. Even with all the developments nearby, the Moana Surf Rider manages to retain its old world charm and atmosphere. Beautiful Banyan tree between the hotel and the beach and with every amenity available in a perfectly decorated historic hotel.
The staff here were wonderful and accommodating. Personal despite size of facility. We we in walking distance to beaches stores and restaurants. Overall very nice clean and friendly. Elevators sometimes took a while during high traffic times.
