"15 hr flight from Hong Kong--Oh, what a relief...."
After 15 hrs from Hong Kong in Economy (and I'm 6'2") then going through Customs & having our bags be among the last on the carousel, the O'Hare Hilton was quite a respite. Extremely quick, friendly & helpful front desk (I wish I had her name, so--to the Hilton--she worked 10pm'ish, Sat night, Sept 13, dark-hair, not too tall, attractive. She should get a promotion.) Then, after nothing but airline food, the sports bar food & Filipina waitress were excellent too. Very comfortable bed; good night's sleep. And, then again, great help from the front desk guy on Sunday morning to show us the easy way--not the tram--to Terminal 3. The ONLY ISSUE. The Tram from the International Terminal. Gave good directions to get to Terminal 1 & Hilton...but once we got off the Tram, NO DIRECTIONS AT ALL. Obviously, this is not a Hilton problem but an O'Hare signage solution is needed.
The hotel fit the need well for a comfortable, clean, nicely set up room for a quick one night stay. In the morning we used their Park and Fly program which includes the airport shuttle service. This is not the cheapest hotel but not outrageously priced either. We have used this hotel 5 times now and have always had a positive experience. Just keep in mind that the Park & Fly service is not included when booking through Expedia and you will need to pay if you want it at the hotel.
Picked this hotel because it was close to the Allstate Arena, only 6 blocks. Standard double bed room was typical, very nice and clean. You are able to walk through the hotel to get to the Bar & Grill and the Family Restaurant which is a plus during inclement weather. Front desk staff and cleaning staff were very courteous and friendly. Good value and a really enjoyable stay.
"Convenient to O'Hare. Great food and inexpensive!"
We enjoyed the comfortable beds and the restaurant was reasonably priced. The portions were very large and we couldn't finish it all. Service was exceptionally good. A waitress named Emily was the Best!
We found this Sheraton first rate in all categories. The check-in personnel were accommodating, friendly, and accessible. The room itself had amazing space, and ultra comfortable beds and pillows. Lastly, for those wanting to spend a weekend in Chicago, there's a free, frequent shuttle to the Blue-line, and parking overnight at the hotel itself is more affordable than some park-and-rides (certainly better than parking in the city in most cases).
Overall great experience. The other reviews were very accurate. All staff I encountered were very pleasant and super helpful. The breakfast was delightful. The rooms were clean and cozy. Internet and TV channels were good. Did not utilize pool or workout facilities. They had coffee ALL DAY LONG!!!
Used the hotel shuttle bus to the airport to catch the train into the city. With free parking and a shuttle, expenses were low, but it's time for money, the shuttle/train trip was about an hour. Also, one day we waited 35 min for a shuttle bus to pick us back up from the airport and the next day we waited for 25 (The shuttle bus works for a different company and makes several stops in multiple locations). However, the staff handled the complaint very well.
*note* if you are waiting for the shuttle bus, flag it down! The drivers do not stop!
