"Very nice and clean - recommend for non-beach stay"
We have a sailboat in La Cruz - need a 1 nt room for a couple - very good value for the US$47 or whatever it was. No glasses in room, make sure you get both TV and AC remotes, lots of free parking, no frig or bar frig in room, ice from front desk. If you're there for a while - get a rental car - cheap in PV not airport - $8 a day
We had our first trip to Grand Velas with our 2 year old daughter. The hotel was amazing and a great spot for families. It was a bit quiet when we were there as didnt know it was the end of rainy season, but made it even more relaxing.
We haven't stayed at a resort before and Villa del Palmar Flamingos was an excellent choice for a first resort experience. Beautiful location on the beach and well designed facility. Everything is within a couple minutes walking distance. Everywhere we went the staff was friendly and asked how we were doing. There were plenty of activities to choose from and would keep you busy all day if you wanted.
We stayed for 30th anniversary in a one br suite that was absolutly beautiful.. It was large and very clean with a great view of the ocean.. The resort is beautifully landscaped and very quiet. It has a sister resort next door that has more activity going on, and more restaurants to choose from. The service at both resorts was outstanding. We will definitely stay here again.

We went here for our honeymoon in August, we had great weather, food was awesome, and staff were so nice! Our beds were two singles put together, a bit uncomfortable but otherwise the room was perfect! All the buffets and a la cartes were so good! The only nuisance was the birds that fly around and land on your tables at the buffet.
Overall, we were delighted. Check-in was pleasant, with paperwork and everything brought to us while we sipped our "welcome" beverages in the lounge. We went with our children--ages 10, 7, 4 and 1--and they loved it. The zero-entry pools are great for little people, and the roof-top pool was my 4-year-old's favorite, plus there is a playground if you can withstand the heat. At first, I thought the Resort might have been more family-friendly, but the pools over there were crazy busy and the DJs were blasting music. At the Residences, we had soothing music and a spa getaway atmosphere, as opposed to the party atmosphere at the Resort. Food was fantastic, with lots of options to eat healthy or indulge. Fruit variety could have been better (same selection over and over), but at least it was there. We really appreciated the VIP beach area for guests of the Residences, as it was nice to have a quiet area set aside just for us. Having access to all the food at the Resort was great as well, since the buffet was a great option when we were anxious to get the kids fed quickly. Service at the Residence restaurants was definitely done in "tiempo latino" without the usual American hustle to which we are accustomed. Big bonus: we were NEVER solicited to buy a timeshare. I saw the office that offered tours and ownership, but no one ever called us or approached us about it. Coordinate airport transfer with the hotel! We traveled with Gray Line and paid 4X what a taxi would have cost.
Our family had an amazing vacation @ paradise village. A special thanks to Che che and, Leo from the activities and another special thanks to Sol and Elvira in the waitress department. Our room was cleaned every day, food and drinks where great. Pools are amaizing...this was our second visit and will return soon.
