“Staying again next week”

This hotel will not appeal to the lover of minimalist modern. Despite the modern building, the style is (repro-) antique in reception and the bedrooms and Mediterranean in the restaurant. Bedrooms are comfortable with a large desk/dressing table, side chair and table and king size beds with comfortable matresses. Bathrooms are tiled / marble with a shower over the bath. My only complaint: the shower panels do tend to leak - but at least it's a panel not a shower curtain! Friendly and efficient staff on the desk and in the bar / restaurant. I only had one meal in the restaurant which was fresh and well presented. I recommend the Chateau Neuf du Pape to go with the steak! A hotel that works very well for a business traveller in the week - I booked myself in again next week.

“Excellent value for money”

Very impressed with the hotel, particularly as booking last minute through Expedia saved me 20% on the standard double room. For what I wanted (overnight stay at the weekend) facilities were excellent - easy to find coming off Jct 26 of the M1, car park literally next door, bedrooms were furnished to a spec normally found in more expensive places, and reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Have to say I didn't have call to use the reataurant/bar facilities, so can't comment on these, but if you're looking for an overnight pit-stop in something a little better than the well-known economy options, this is well worth a look

“Ice Hockey Weekend”

Perfect location, just 5 minutes walk from Old Market Square, close to the Theatre Royal tram stop. Service from staff was fantastic, lovely comfortable bed and nice flat screen telly. Thought that this was exceptional value for the price paid and would definately recommend it to anyone!

“Wished we'd stayed there all weekend!”

Have just returned from a night at the Welbeck which was a very pleasant stay. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Travelodge down the road the previous night as a last minute thing and we now wish we had stayed at the Welbeck for the entire stay as it is 100 times better. The reception staff were very friendly and even let us check in early. The in room facilities are excellent especially the flat screen digital TV. The beds are huge and very comfortable which was good as we had been out quite late. The only negative point was that we could not connect to the hotels free internet but we think it was the computer rather than their end. A very enjoyable stay and wouldn't hestitate to book this again if we are in the area. A hotel in a central location if you are planning to go out into Nottingham on a night out.

“welbeck Hotel”

Very nice 3 star with big rooms and very quiet for somewhere so close to the city centre. Cheaper than most other 3 stars even taking account of the need to pay for parking.

“Ice Hockey Play Off Weekend”

This is the 2nd time that I have stayed at this hotel. The bar/restaurant on teh top floor is really lovely, nice plasma screen tellies in the room, and just a 3 minute walk to the tram stop, or less than 10 minutes to the main Market Square. Easy to miss when driving as is hidden on the left, so you can't see it until you are there, and it's on a one-way street. Really should have remembered this from last year...

“Great Location”

We booked a hotel last minute and went for the cheapest we could find, having never stayed at this hotel didnt know what to expect. Well all i can say is I will staying here from now on - perfect location for Rock City (next door), theatre royal and town. Staff very very friendly, excellent restaurant and car park next door. Perfect!!!!

“Was okay!!”

Very basic room, some dust around!! Hard to find, discounted parking at multi-storey car park (-adjacent to hotel) only. Handy for concert hall but not alot to do or see in surrounding area-especially desolate at night.

“Great hotel - but check out too early”

I stayed at the Welbeck many, many times and it is a good place and ok for the money. In general their service and the staff is very nice. Only 2 flaws for me: the breakfast could be improved with more selection and being a bit more healthier (fruits and co). Check out time is 11.00 and this is tough on weekends. If you are more than 1hr late, they will charge you extra.
