“Simple, clean budget accommodation”
Simple, clean budget accommodation. We got exactly what we expected. Staff were friendly. The most difficult thing was finding the car park when we first arrived. The hotel is on a busy street with trams traveling up and down, there isn't really anywhere to stop and work out where you need to go. The parking is across the road, the reception staff can stamp your ticket for a hotel guest discount for when you leave.
“Does what it says on the lid”
Short stay for concert, room was clean, staff were friendly, bathroom a bit odd, one of those pre made ones and fitted as a pod, but not a problem. Did not bother with the breakfast so cannot comment on quality, but the Cross Keys, 50yds to the right of hotel does fantastic eggs Benedict (in my opinion)
“More noisy than anticipated”
The Ibis was very central and the room was to be expected based on the price we paid - basic, functional yet modern, with a fantastically designed space efficient bathroom. Prospective customers should be aware of the following: - They do not have airconditioning effectively. They have some kind of modern heating/cooling system that basically doesn't kick in during summer unless you set the thermostat at 30 and then a mildly warm fan runs. We went on a weekend that was quite warm and the only way to get airflow was to open the windows - Being in the heart of town also means hearing all the stags/hens as they meander through the streets singing.. be prepared to hear this if you have the windows opened. - The doors aren't thick, so you will hear people talking as they walk past This place is probably more ideal for groups of friends celebrating in town during the weekend.
“Brilliant for our hen do weekend/weekend away!”
Its basic, but we didn't spend anytime in the room except to sleep or get ready. There are also cheap places to have breakfast at the end of the road. Amazing location and the parking opposite was reasonable for the 3 of us at the end of the weekend. Shower was really good, towels were on the small side though. The staff were really helpful, supplying our party with hen do info, putting our rooms near each other, dealing with roudy folk outside the hotel (& keeping them out) made us feel safe, supplying extra keys and finding a place to store our bags for the sunday after checkout time. Only thing I would say is that the key cards were abit temperamental, and that the air con would randomly turn itself off first thing in the morning.
“Good budget. Well placed.”
Budget hotel but adequate for a short stay. The room was clean and tidy and the staff friendly. Very well placed for the city centre. Did not use the restaurant, so not sure about the food. Breakfast available within a short walk. Car park across the road is pricey overnight but very convenient. Train station is a 10-15 minute walk with taxi's available. Would stop again.
