Located well for the city centre

Posted 09-Aug-2014
Pros: It was close to the city centre
Cons: Air conditioning added Staff that have a better understanding of dietary requirements
Location: It was in a restricted zone so there was not a lot of road noise and it was easy to cross the road to get to the car park.
The room was too small and too hot, in close proximity to other rooms so we could hear mobile telephone conversation due to having windows open to try and cool it down. no air conditioning available just a noisy portable fan. Floor boards in room above were squeaky and we could hear the occupants moving around throughout the night and even rolling over in bed, well we presume they were in bed! It was disappointing, as a vegetarian, that the kitchen staff did not appear to understand the concept of "free range" eggs. It was close to places to eat. There is a beach in the city centre!

Not what you expect from Hilton

Posted 29-Jul-2014
Pros: Got a cheap deal.
Cons: Everything
Firstly it is almost impossible to drive to the hotel despite being able to see it due to the one way system. Having done three laps my wife went to ask them and was told to follow the signs which were non-existent in one direction and totally inadequate in the other. Once we finally made it they then proceeded to charge £15 for a nights parking which was a total rip off for Nottingham. Inside the hotel is really tired and out of date and let's the Hilton brand down badly. I've been a silver member of the Hilton Loyalty scheme so have stayed at several and this is definitely the worst I've seen. Add in some unhelpful staff and no aircon on a hot summers night and it was a pretty poor experience all round. Best avoided if at all possible.

Hot and stuffy

Posted 28-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff were helpful
Cons: Air conditioning!!
Location: Great central location for a city break
It was 28 degrees outside and just as hot in our room which made for an uncomfortable night. The small fan provided had no impact. It was a family room which basically meant a sofa bed was provided. There was no room to move between the beds and both me and my teenage son came away with large bruises on our legs from knocking into the edge of the sofa bed. The room was above the entrance and at 3am on a Saturday night the noise from returning revellers meant that what sleep we had managed to have was further disturbed - we could have shut the window but given the heat that wasn't really an option! We won't stay here again and this hotel did not live up to what we have come to expect from the Hilton chain.

Weekend Away

Posted 20-Jul-2014
Pros: On the plus side the breakfast and pool were good and the location is great. Wont be staying again though!
Cons: At least a fan in the rooms for the summer, some rooms need a refresh!
Location: Good location, car park, shops and nightlife all near by!
Had high hopes for the hotel being a Hilton but did not meet my expectations. First double room we had was very tired condition and was about 15 years overdue a makeover, several cobwebs in the corners, old furniture. Asked for an upgrade and was moved to a deluxe double for an additional fee, new room was much more like what I had expected from a Hilton but still been in many better rooms. None of the rooms had aircon which wont always be an issue but when it is 30 degrees it becomes a major problem, pretty sure the EU don't allow transport of animals in the heat we had to endure. No fan in the room either and a window that opens about 30cm does not cut it!
