“Dire.”
....but cheap and central.
“Functional”
The good points are comfy bed, bath, and reasonably spacious room. This makes the hotel a good overnight stop. However, there is a tired air to the place and it isn't a luxury stop-over.
“good location”
I booked 3 rooms for a party of six to stay for just one night. The hotel is situated right in the city center so is perfect for going out and exploring the city. On arrival the staff on reception were polite and checked us in easily but i would not say they they were the happiest of hotel staff i have come across. Our room was clean and had enough space for two people. The only complaint was that it could do with some repairs. The shower only let hot water through so made it impossible to shower without 3rd degree burns, also the extraction in the bathroom did not work. Besides these little niggles it was a decent hotel especially for how much it was for a room, and we may have just fropped for a bad room as the other rooms i had booked were fine. I would stay here again as its a great location, cheap and clean.
“Clean but very shabby and dated”
Wouldn't go back to this hotel - the room was clean and the bed was comfy but that's about all it had going for it. Overall appearance was tired and dated - the room looked like it was from the 1940's with a big old wooden dresser which was scratched and worn - the carpet was goin thin and a plug socket was hanging off the wall. It was ok for a bed for the night but we dumped our bags and didn't want to hang around. Our room was nothing like the photos on the website. Location ideal for city centre but there are plenty of other better quality hotels to choose from without spending much more - we were disappointed.
“Functional but no luxury”
This hotel is OK. Beds are comfy, but the whole experience is a bit grim.
“Just about OK.”
The hotel is well located (near market square) and the staff pretty helpful. However the rooms were very small and uncomfortable (particularly for 2 people to stay) - and I am saying this in comparison to rooms in other hotels in Nottingham with around same tariff.
“Great Value”
Great value and location. Room could do with a lick of paint and new carpet but apart from that was very good. Would definately stay again.
“Not to be recommended”
We feel that you should take this hotel off your list as it is really only suited to young backpackers . Our room was a disgrace and at breakfast ,the tables were reset without even being cleaned. Even though the downstairs bar had only just re-opened the meal we had was not edible, from a very limited choice We would certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone. After our return to Nottingham we booked across the road into the Park Plaza and at a similar price range the different standard was dramatic.
“Brittania Nottingham - What a Dump!”
Hotel poorly maintained and lack of professional attitude on part of staff
“Don't go there on winter, you'll freeze. Don't try to reach to the reception. They'll never answer.”
No heater in the room. (the room was freezing) No answer when you call the reception / room service If anyone calls you from hotel, it is impossible to connect to the room or reception.
