“Feels like home”

From the warm greeting at the front desk to the comfort of the room, having stayed at this hotel on several occasions, it feels like home. The full breakfast in the morning which includes eggs, ham, biscuits, cereal, coffee, juice adds to the value of this hotel. I would stay nowhere else during my travels

When to go
Autumn is a wonderful time, the changing of the leaves,, the fresh air all add to the beauty of this area of Virginia.
Getting there
An easy drive from either Washington DC or Richmond VA, either way which is about a 60 mile drive. However Richmond airport is much less congested and the interstate is much easier navigated from this location rather than DC which can have heavy traffic.
Must see
The history of this area is unsurpassed , the civil war battlefields, the subterranean caverns, the quaint stores all add to the appeal.

“enjoyable room but not for breakfast..”

breakfast is below average at best..sausage..no eggs..sarah lee mini pastries which make cardbord taste good. coffee was not real good..

“Stay near Phili”

Hotel was great. Night front desk clerk was too busy on a personal call to help us get one additional pillow and bath towel. He simple said they were fully booked and had none to give, forgetting of course that we had changed rooms due to close proximity to the elevator, and that the first room had extra items. We checked with the AM desk clerk and she said they were not fuly booked and was suprised at his response. I would stay there again dispite this minor annoyance.

“Very nice option to visit DC and Williamsburg”

I came all the way from South America to visit DC and Bush Gardens Williamsburg, so I picked a nice hotel with a reasonable price in between. The hotel is clean, well maintained, has free wi-fi, indoor swimming pool, and complimentary breakfast. Could not ask for more. If you have a car the easiest way to DC is to park at the Franconia subway station parking facility. about 30 miles north, and take the subway. Parking is free on holidays and weekends.

“Will definitely stay there again”

We were in the D.C. area for a wedding over the weekend and wanted to stay an extra day but wanted to be outside the D.C. circle of pain for our drive back home monday morning. This hotel was a great fit. Very easy access to and from the interstate. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly. I'm not a snob when it comes to continental breakfastes and this was as good as any other place I've stayed. The only minor knock is there are only fast food type restaurants around the hotel, but just one exit south (about 5 minutes drive) is a variety of restaurants that havejust about anything you have taste for. On our next trip to the D.C. area we will be staying there at least a couple of nights.

“Good hotel with helpful staff”

Only gripe was that the indoor pool was somewhat on the cold side We stayed 2 nights Breakfast varied in the hot offerings Day 1 Bacon & omelettes.....very nice Day 2 Patties & hashbrowns.....not so good Staff very helpful

Downtown Fredricksburg is historically interesting but is abour 4 miles away

“A Great Stay”

We stayed in this hotel for over a week and it was wonderful! Breakfast was a great mix of hot and cold foods, the kids LOVED the indoor pool and the hotel and room were clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful and when the hurricane came through and the lights went out they were there with flashlights and activities for the kids. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a great stay at a great price.

“Great Place to Stay”

I have stayed at this Hotel several times and I believe this time was the best experience for me. The Hotel was very well maintained and the personnel were very conscientious about keeping the food available for all the guest for the free breakfast. Totally great experience!!!

I found there were several well known restaurants in the area. There was no problem in finding good food to eat!!

“Very nice and clean”

Nice hotel, very clean, good breakfast buffet. The only thing I didn't like is the bathtub is too small even when you stand, the rest its all good.
