“ITS GONNA BE HOT!!!”

WARNING WARNING WARNING... This hotel is advertized to have air conditioning BUT only has it certain times of the year. Same with the heat. It all depends on the time of year. We switched rooms 4 times to try to find a cooler room. We were told to open the windows and if we wanted they could give us a fan. The toilets run on all the time. Beds are cheep and uncomfortable. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

“Great value”

The suite was real and great value for the money we paid. It had full kitchen including big refrigerator and range. If you forgot something to bring something 711 store is next door. we enjoyed the free parking, internet and a nice complimentary breakfast too.

“Miles from nowhere”

This hotel is a long way out of Alexandria which ended up in expensive cab fare. Old town Alexandria is quite beautiful and if I had my time again I would pay the little extra for a room in the town. Restaurant at the hotel was ok and the staff very cheery and helpful. As for the sofa bed mattress - I can still feel the springs in my back. Ouch! Won't be going back.

“VERY satisfied with Washington Suites Alexandria”

The folks at the desk could not be more helpful. Carmen took extra time to give us many hints and make the stay as enjoyable as possible. They even took the seats out of the shuttle to accommodate the two motorized wheelchairs we had. Any request we had they did all possible to meet it. Every day the room was thoroughly cleaned, even dishes that were left in the sink. The breakfast was very good including fresh waffles! It was kept clean and supplies timely replenished. The biggest problem we saw was communication with maintenance because of language but they did the best they could.

Getting around

We did not have good experience using the metro and chose to drive into DC at the time we were there we had no trouble finding handicap parking.

What to pack

RAIN GEAR. Every time we have been there it has RAINED.

“Going down hill”

I've been staying at the Washington Suites for a couple of years now, and though I love the kitchens, and the beds are good, and the staff is nice and helpful, the cleanliness of the hotel has deteriorated enough so that you can't help but notice. My room this time had mold on the shower curtain and red stuff on the shower head. In the corners, the rugs were dirty. Lately I've been disappointed, in fact the last two times I stayed in Alexandria I stayed somewhere else. I had to stay here this time because the whole town was booked up. And I can't help commenting on the American Flag themed shirts some of the staff were wearing this time. Please, spend your energy not on gimmicks, but on keeping the hotel clean and well-maintained.

“Good value for the money.”

This hotel has class A rooms that are roomy, modern, and clean. Some small aspects could use upgrades, carpets in halls are dirty. Staff was very helpful, breakfast was great. Overall was very good value.

“Spacious Family Friendly Hotel”

The hotel space was very nice. We were traveling with our children, and the room was basically a decent size single bedroom apartment with a kitchen. This was nice because it provided space for my children to play. The room was certainly larger than other all suites hotels I've used in the past. It was a great value and clean. The pool was outside, but clean and warm. As a whole, I would strongly recommend the hotel as somewhere worth staying. The breakfast was adequate for a free continental hotel breakfast, no better and no worse than other such breakfasts I've encountered. Finally, the shuttle was very convenient to use to reach the Metro.

Getting around

Metro provides very convenient access to the National Mall area, and allows you to avoid DC traffic and parking.

Family-friendly activities

Check out the various Smithsonian Institution museaums. They are free and have great exhibits.

Events and shows

Caught a Nationals game. Great park, very family friendly.
