“You get what you pay for....”

Folks, if you are a traveler that wants extreme comfort, this is not for you. If you want an acceptable place to rest, with basic comforts, a secure location in town, with a short walk to the Metro at a very good price, then this is for you. It wasn't the cleanest, the phone, tv, and wi-fi were good. There was good shopping and food nearby. I paid roughly 60% less than I would have for the DC conference hotel. It works for me.

“Travelodge”

It's not far from the Old Town area which is interesting. However, walking from the metro at night can be a little sketchy. Take advantage of the bus from the metro which lets off a couple blocks away. This hotel needs to be upgraded, the bed was lumpy and uneven, the room smelled of cleaner, and the bathroom was tiny. If you need a less expensive place to stay for a night or two, it's fine, or if you're here as a budget traveler you'll survive, but don't expect too much. Front desk staff is basically friendly and helpful.

“Convenient location”

Convenient location, close to metro, and Old Town Alexandria. If you want to hang out in your hotel all night long this is not the place for you. If you want to get out and see the sites in a convenient location and just sleep in your hotel than this is a nice place.

“Clean & comfortable older style hotel”

Alexandria Travelodge is an older property and this is reflected in the fixtures, fittings and room layout. But it is clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Extra towels? No problem. An iron. Sure, return it when you check out. Continental breakfast is a cereal and toast/bagel/pastry plus coffee affair. If you want something a bit healthier or stronger, Starbucks is across the road on the next block. Neighborhood is lovely, walkable. Some great eats not far away.

“lovely hotel in great neighbourhood”

this hotel is not in Washington, but a neighbourhood just outside of it. The hotel is 5 blocks from the Metro and easy walking. The Metro is every few minutes. I dont think I had to wait more then three minutes for a train. There is a choise of the Blue line or the Yellow line and both take you into the city centre in around 10 minutes. Very quick and very easy to use. Alexandria is a great place to visit with lovely shops and pubs on King street, Nice quiet hotel, big rooms and nice choice for breakfast. It's all about the cheap price of the hotel and the easy access to the city centre for me.

“Disappointed”

Location close to DC & Reagan airport but room was cramped, bathroom had no electrical outlet, quite noisy due to traffic. Expect no frills @ all. Also I fell in back parking lot due to slight unmarked step down from brick sidewalk. Be careful!

“ok”

The staff was very nice and the room was ok, except the bathroom was very small. And there was no shuttle to the airpot or train station down the street. It wasn't a long walk to the station in the day time but at night it felt very long.

“Better than you'd expect...”

Although our bathroom had a faint smell of sea water (the river is only 2 blocks away) the a/c was amazing (it was over 100°) and the bed was super comfortable and the shower was hot and clean. Together with being 5 blocks away from the metro and 5 blocks to the center of Old Town, you can't beat this price! Oh and they allow pets (for a 25$ fee)
