“Don't drive. Take the Metro.”

Very nice hotel. However, the additional $18. a day to park in the garage seemed excessive. The wifi didn't not work well for us on the first night of our stay. Their tech tried to fix it. Then they had us called the service company. They couldn't fix it and we had to go back and forth several times without getting it fixed. It was working for our 2nd and 3rd day. Breakfast was very good. The room was very nice and had a full kitchen. Liked having the full size coffee maker. However, you need to purchase soda, and food off site. The little shop in lobby is very limited and expensive.

“Parking Charges”

The hotel was perfectly fine, but the parking charges were a surprise. They state that the charge is $18, but my CC was charged $40 for an overnight stay. I checked in after 3 pm on a Friday, and checked out the next morning around 9 am.

“A Good Choice”

Although not really in walkng distance to Old Town this is a good quality hotel. The rooms are very large and well appointed. The property is spotless. The buffet breakfast is above average.Our only problem was a shower that wouldn't produce hot water, only luke warm.

“Big problems with service, but clean”

We like to stay at a Residence Inn when traveling as a family, since we can separate our two children and everyone sleeps better. We had a two bedroom and two bathroom suite with an extra sofa bed in the living area. It was very clean, especially the bathrooms. The maid service was fine and we required a plumbing call, which was speedy and efficient. The breakfast was adequate for being complimentary, with the exception of the coffee. Luckily there are two Starbucks within walking distance. The main issue we had was with the advertised free shuttle: we used it once to go down into Old Town Alexandria and we had to call several times for a pickup to go back to the hotel. We actually saw the driver go right past without even looking at us. They hotel said he came for us but we weren't there, so it would be another twenty minutes. We finally took a city trolley and walked from the metro station to the hotel late at night, which worked out fine. We also used the front desk to call for a taxi, but they said it would be twenty minutes before a taxi came, because the taxis were running behind. Not really believing that, we called two different cab companies ourselves and got two taxis to arrive within 3 minutes. Another problem was that with only two elevators for 15 floors, the time to get back and forth to the lobby during the morning rush was inconvenient. There was quite a bit of noise in the night from trains. Otherwise, our stay was reasonably priced for the space.

“Great Hotel!!”

Staff was very helpful, room was clean, and in great condition. King size bed was confortable and the kitchenette was very nice. Easy access to DC, No complaints here.

“Awesome experience!”

Besides having a fabulous room with a full kitchen, and ice maker in the freezer, the breakfast buffet was amazing. Belgian waffles and two hot egg dishes everday, plus all the other usual fare. Extremely happy!

“Great Hotel and Staff”

Loved the hotel! Bed was extremely comfortable! Very accomodating staff, shuttles to and from anywhere we wanted! Will be staying there again and would highly recommend it for those wanting to stay outside of DC when in the area!

“Great DC location”

Residence Inn Marriott Carlyle is right in the middle of Alexandria VA and easy access to many historical locations not only in Alexandria but also Washington DC. Just an AWESOME hotel and a FULL FREE breakfast also!

“Enjoyed the stay”

Very well placed hotel,close to several dining places and movies,also short walk to catch metro,staff was very friendly and helpful.Take the in house shuttle to old town,lots of small shops and dining.The only tiny issue with our stay was the water pressure when bathing.We will stay again when back in DC,Also breakfast bar was well above average
