“Our top choice when in Alexandria”
What makes this Kimpton really special is the Brabo restaurant on the ground floor. Great dinners and classy wine list. Makes for a very easy and pleasant stay. Our only recommendation to the management would be to have some fruit and danish in addition to coffee in the AM
“Lovely stay”
Enjoyed the the wine hour as well!
“Quaint place on a historic street”
My husband and I were in town to tour DC and the area. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the service was impeccable and the location was amazing. The only blip on the radar was when we arrived back at our hotel and the carpeting in our room was wet. When I asked about it, I was told that the carpeting had been shampooed. Why didn't they wait until we left? The carpet was still damp two days later...
“hotel was very nice, and yes i would go back, if in the area for another event.”
area had many small shops, very local neighborhood, something for everyone.
“AlexandriaVA”
Excellent. Only reservation is that the overnight parking was only valet at $27 extra.
“Excellent place in Alexandria”
In town for visit to Patent Office, metro from Reagan National, walked from metro stop, walked to restaurants, walked to Patent Office; very convenient! Friendly, helpful staff, clean room, extremely comfortable. I would definitely stay again.
“Great location and beautifully decorated”
This gem of a hotel sits in the perfect location on King St in Alexandria. The staff are courteous and professional, the tasteful decor makes you feel like you are in a spa and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient, and comfortable stay.
“Another great stay in a Kimpton Hotel”
We stayed here for 3 nights in March, and were greatly impressed with all aspects of this Kimpton Hotel. The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful and the room was excellent. This hotel is close to the metro and is on King Street so is in the heart of Old Town. We hope to come back soon.
“Awesome hotel”
The hotel is very modern with terrific location, spa and restaurants in and near by. Wine reception was a treat. Hotel staff was very accommodating and cheerful. Easy walk to the water. Had a wonderful time. Bed could be more comfortable.
“Where's the porter?”
The Kimpton Lorien in Alexandria is one of the new "hip" hotels. When I arrived my first evening, the car valet did not offer to help with my bags. I could handle them myself, but it would have been nice to have some help. Upon entering my room I looked around for the window. There was one mini window hidden in a corner with a view of the courtyard. The room was dark. You could not turn up the lights enough to light it up. There were no power outlets for my computer. I had to unplug a light to make room. The place was clean and the bed was fine. It was quiet and the desk people were courteous. But who needs a dark room?
